Wattel Has the Goods in a Giant Pot

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

There was a huge pile lying in the middle of the felt with Tai Nguyen all-in while Mike Wattel and Nick Pupillo were still in side action, closing the last betting round. Wattel bet and Pupillo let his hand go, allowing a showdown between the two remaining players.

"Wheel," Wattel announced the bad news to Nguyen, showing {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Nguyen himself had a strong seventy-six but that didn't save him from being eliminated.

Wattel raked in a massive pot and stacked his chips. He's currently possessing 80,000 or so while Pupillo got clipped to 47,000.

Yakovenko Scoops a Large Pot

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Nam Le raised and Ismael Bojang and Nikolai Yakovenko called from the blinds. All players drew two on the first draw.

Yakovenko took the betting lead but Le and Bojang weren't ready to give up.

They called and drew two each while Yakovenko stood pat. He continued betting and Le and Bojang called again.

The last round saw both Bojang and Le draw one. Yakovenko fired once again and Le tanked for over a minute. He eventually released his hand. Bojang threw in calling chips to see Yakovenko's hand. Unfortunately for him, Yakovenko's {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} was stronger.

Yakovenko soared to over 40,000 after winning the juicy pot. Bojang, on the other hand, is now down to about four big bets.

Pupillo Gets There But Still Toasted

Badugi

Nick Pupillo got what looked like his last 10,000 or so in before the draws against John Monnette, who was on the button. Each player drew a card until Monnette spread {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades} on the end. Pupillo mucked a six-perfect that he made on his last draw face up and took his leave.

Ware in Danger

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Badugi

Jon Turner defended big blind from a Ron Ware under-the-gun raise and then took two. Ware took one and bet dark but Turner fired in a check-raise. Ware called and suddenly was behind in the draw as he needed a card while Turner was pat. Draws repeated after Turner bet, and then he put in a final bet on the end.

Ware called but couldn't beat {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

Eli Elezra

2-7 Triple Draw

Eli Elezra got his last 2,500 in after the second draw against Damjan Radanov, who was leading the betting on early rounds, and Nissen Osterneck on the button. Action checked to Osterneck, who bet, with Elezra calling off his crumbs and Radanov continuing.

Elezra and Radanov drew while Osterneck patted. They checked on the end and Radanov announced a nine, showing {9-}{8-}{7-}{5-}{2-}. Radanov mucked and Elezra slapped {2-}{3-}{4-}{5-} down before sweating his last card.

"You win," he said, showing the {j-Clubs} and heading out.
