Zhigalov Turns Trips

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Andrey Zhigalov opened to 7,000 on the button, and got a call from Dan Matsuzuki on the big blind.

The flop came {k-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and the action checked through. The turn came {6-Hearts}, Matsuzuki checked again and Zhigalov bet 7,000. Matsuzuki called and the river came {8-Diamonds}.

Matsuzuki checked and Zhigalov put in a 21,000 bet. Matsuzuki tanked for a minute, made the call and mucked his hand when he saw Zhigalov turn over {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for turned trips.

Self Doubles Through Leng

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Ryan Leng
Ryan Leng

Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

With {j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds} having flopped and 20,000 or so in the pot, Wes Self managed to get his 69,400 in against Ryan Leng.

"You have queen-jack?" Leng asked.

Indeed, it was as Leng feared: {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades}, good for top two and a gutter. The draw wasn't live as Leng had {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-}. The {6-Clubs} turn and {j-Hearts} river didn't do it for Leng, who sent over the majority of his own chips.

"That's a big one," he said with a sigh.

Ickow Rips on O'Dell

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

2-7 Single Draw

Frankie O'Dell opened for 8,500 under the gun and Todd Ickow defended big blind. Ickow pitched one and O'Dell two, and Ickow peeled his card then jammed for about 40,000. O'Dell folded pretty quickly.

"No!" Ickow shouted, flashing an eight-low.

Horowitz Hanging In

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Scott Horowitz bet 5,500 into Michael Chow on the big blind, on a flop of {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Chow called, and the turn came the {k-Spades}.

The action checked through on the turn {k-Spades} and river {4-Spades}, and Horowitz showed down {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} to take in a small pot. Horowtiz said he's just trying to make it through the end of Day 2, and right now he's still hanging in.

No-Limit Hold'em

Ryan Leng wanted to play no-limit hold'em, but things went south for him right away.

Down to just 17,000, Jorge Walker shoved and Leng picked up the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds} to set him at risk. Walker said he looked at one ace but turned out he held the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} and doubled through as it ran out {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

Moments later, Leng lost his last 50,000 or so.
