Riess Hits Eight-Ball

Level 7 : 200/400, 600 ante

Ryan Riess raised in the first position and he called after the player in the small blind shoved for 3,500 or so. Both players drew one card and they turned their beholdings face up:

Riess: {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}
Opponent: {8-}{5-}{3-}{2-}

Riess was trailing but he peeled a very promising {8-}. That proved to be enough to take it down as the other player turned up a {k-}.

Raymer Forces Everyone Out

Level 7 : 200/400, 600 ante

Four-way to the draw, three players peeled one card and Greg Raymer took two on the button. A player in the big blind fired 3,200, earning one fold, but Scott Abrams called in the cutoff. Raymer, however, announced a raise to 12,000. The big blind immediately released his hand, but Abrams seemed to have a tougher time figuring out his move. He spent around a minute thinking about the situation, and eventually let his hand go.
