Grafton Calls Two Bets

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Sam Grafton completed from the small blind and his left-hand opponent checked. Grafton check-called 300 on the {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop and then check-called another on the {9-Hearts} turn. The {8-Clubs} river was checked and Grafton was shown a top pair of {k-Spades}{7-Clubs} by his opponent, which he couldn't beat.

Iwata Binks Two-Outer

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Yosuke Iwata was in the third position, three-betting two 2,200 after the player under the gun had made it 700. The action folded to the small blind who could four-bet to 7,000. Iwata shoved for 8,400 and the cards were turned up as the small blind called.

Iwata trailed with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} versus {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} but he saw what he needed on the {7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Spades} and flop and the remaining runout {10-Spades} and {6-Hearts} confirmed his double.

Huge Pot for Lafaye

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

On a flop that read {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} a player in early position moved all in into two other players with larger stacks.

Glenn Lafaye called the all in from the cutoff and the player on the button also called the all in.

Lafaye and the button checked it down when the turn came the {2-Diamonds} and the river the {6-Diamonds}.

Lafaye showed the {9-Diamonds}{9-} while the button showed the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} for bested top pair. The all in player simply said "ace high" and tossed his cards into the middle before leaving the table and Lafaye added to his stack.

MacPhee Likes the Third Club

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Under the gun, Kevin MacPhee opened to 800, his neighbor three-bet to 2,200, and MacPhee agreed to see the {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades} where he check-called 1,800.

The {j-Clubs} turn filled the flush draw and MacPhee checked again, letting his opponent fire 4,800. Then he raised to 12,000 and, after 20 seconds or so, MacPhee was allowed to drag the pot as his opponent folded.

Double Dutch as Vonk Turns Up a King

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

According to his twitter account, Marcel Vonk got a very fortuitous turn card to win a big pot.

If you don't know who Marcel Vonk is, that might be because the Dutch player has only won three ranking titles in his poker career, and his only WSOP bracelet win came in 2010, when he outlasted a field of 3,844 players, toppling a certain David Peters heads-up. While Peters has gone on to earn over $32 million in tournament earnings alone, Vonk's winning result of $570,960 in the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event nine years ago still accounts for over half of his lifetime earnings at the tournament tables.

Vonk has just got lucky on the turn to survive in the Millionaire Maker as he detailed in a Tweet just moments ago. Vonk said that he four-bet pre-flop to 5,000 which his opponent called. The flop came {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and Vonk bet 5,000, to which his opponent responded to with a big shove to 25,000.

Despite not loving the situation, Vonk called. He held {k-}{k-} against his opponents {j-}{j-} top set. The turn was a king to turn the hand on its head and when the river was a blank, Vonk was sitting on 59,000. Can the Dutchman use it as a springboard for another bracelet victory which would double his earnings thanks to the Million-Dollar guarantee for top prize? He has a long way to go, but a great start to build on.

Hughes Shows Three of Spades

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

With {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts} in the middle of the table, Ryan Hughes fired 7,500 to about 11,000 after his two opponents checked to him. The first player released his hand quickly but the other was reluctant for a while. Then he laid his hand down as well, turning up {a-Clubs}. Hughes, in return, showed {3-Spades} while scooping in the pot.

Almost Nothing Beats Nothing

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

Niall Farrell was in position with the action on the {5-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds} turn where his opponent fired 2,300. Farrell raised to 6,500 and he received a call. The {8-Hearts} river was checked and the showdown followed.

"I've got nothing," Farrell's opponent said.

"Nothing-nothing?" the triple crown winner asked.

The other player rolled over {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} and Farrell showed {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, explaining that he also had almost nothing so he needed to be sure that his hand was the winner.
