Korkis Adds Another Elimination

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

On a {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts} board Wasim Korkis checked to Justin Bonomo. Korkis announced re-pot and the two got it in for Bonomo's last 700,000 chips.

Wasim Korkis: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Justin Bonomo: {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and that wasn't enough to save Bonomo who was eliminated.

Aces Versus Aces Debacle for Boulos

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Lion Boulos
Lion Boulos

Stephen Chidwick raised to 90,000 and Lion Boulos just called from one seat over. Joni Jouhkimainen raised the pot and Chidwick folded, Boulos moved all in for around 900,000 and Jouhkimainen quickly called.

Lion Boulos: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Joni Jouhkimainen: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop gave Boulos two pair with his kickers and Jouhkimainen had an open-ended straight draw. After the {7-Diamonds} turn, Jouhkimainen improved to a straight and the {8-Clubs} river was a blank to send Boulos to the rail.

Laplante Eliminated by Tollerene

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Ryan Laplante
Ryan Laplante

One hand after the elimination of Lion Boulos in a clash aces versus aces, Ryan Laplante three-bet shoved and had the classic aces versus kings battle against initial raiser Ben Tollerene.

Ryan Laplante: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Ben Tollerene: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Again the aces would end up second-best on a board of {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} as the kickers played a crucial role, improving Tollerene to two pair. Laplante has been eliminated in 29th place and takes home $43,270.

Tosoc Bests Tsang Again

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Catching the end of the hand, Anson Tsang had held kings on a {8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades} runout but opponent Ryan Tosoc held {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} for a full house and doubled up.

This is the second time today that Tosoc has doubled through the start-of-day chip leader, but Tsang still sits on double average.

Tsang Takes From Sadou

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante

Firas Sadou had folded after two streets against Lautaro Guerra to drop some chips and also bowed out against the aggression of Anson Tsang soon after. The flop showed {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Sadou bet 140,000 from under the gun, Tsang called on the button.

On the {6-Spades} turn, Sadou checked and Tsang's bet of 325,000 won the pot right there.

Matthew Schreiber
Matthew Schreiber

Matthew Schreiber raised to 140,000 on the button and Alex Epstein called from the small blind. Wasim Korkis reraised to 280,000 and Schreiber then jammed for over half a million. Epstein folded and Korkis called instantly.

Matthew Schreiber: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Wasim Korkis: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Things looked grim for Scheiber on the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop and {2-Diamonds} turn, but the miracle {q-Hearts} on the river came to his rescue.

On a {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop James Chen and Lautaro Guerra checked to Firas Sadou who bet 200,000. Chen then check-raised to 700,000.

Guerra folded and Sadou eventually called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts} and Chen bet enough to put Sadou all in. He tank-folded flashing {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} face up and he was left with under 800,000 chips.

Bujtas and Astedt Eliminated

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Laszlo Bujtas
Laszlo Bujtas

At almost the same time the fireworks started on table 418 and 419 respectively, and the online legends Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Bujtas and Niklas "Lena900" Astedt were eliminated to reduce the field to the final 25 hopefuls.

In a four-way limped pot to the {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop, Bujtas bet the pot for 160,000 in the big blind and Lautaro Guerra check-shoved out of the small blind to see Bujtas call.

Laszlo Bujtas: {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Lautaro Guerra: {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The {a-Spades} turn and {6-Spades} river completed the board and Bujtas was eliminated.

Only a few meters over, Alex Epstein had three-bet to 325,000 on the button and Astedt four-bet to 1,125,000 in the big blind. The initial raiser had already forfeited his 140,000 and Epstein asked for his three-bet to be pulled in, mulled over his decision and eventually pushed all in. Astedt called and the cards were on their backs.

Niklas Astedt: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Alex Epstein: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

On a board of {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Epstein flopped two pair and turned a full house to send Astedt to the rail. Both Bujtas and Astedt take home $43,270.
