Rizzuto Rivers the Right Card

Level 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

After the under-the-gun player raised it to 18,000, action folded around to William Rizzuto, who was the lone big blind, and he shoved in his remaining short stack, which got an instant call from the original raiser.

William Rizzuto: {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Under-the-Gun Player: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Rizzuto was way behind preflop, but he did have two live cards. The cards gave him hope on the {5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop, but the hope dwindled on {10-Clubs} turn, only to be rekindled when the dealer fanned the {7-Diamonds} on the river, which gave him the straight and the much-needed double-up with the money bubble quickly approaching.
