Shchemelev Strikes Gold Again

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Vladimir Shchemelev
Vladimir Shchemelev

Vladimir Shchemelev ended up all in with the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} against the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} of David Mezei and the board came {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades} to give Shchemelev running nines for trips.

Soon after, he knocked out Matthew Perry, who had his cards already mucked already as Shchemelev had the winning hand with {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Spades} in the big blind which made two pair on the {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} board.

David Halpern busted shortly after from the same table to reduce the field to the last 40.

Tsakov Spikes Magic Turn to Oust Rouggeris

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, Antonios Rouggeris got it in with the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} for top two pair and Petko Tsakov had {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for top and bottom pair. The {2-Spades} turn improved Tsakov to a full house and he jumped out of his seat with a "yesss" while the blank {j-Diamonds} on the river was a formality.

Shortly after, Eddie Ochana was also sent to the rail and the early casualties continue to pile up as the field is already reduced to the last 42 hopefuls.

Perry & Randolph Stacked

Level 21 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Mel Randolph was all in preflop and at risk against Will Jaffe.

Mel Randolph: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Clubs}
Will Jaffe: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Board: {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Despite hitting his queen on the flop, Randolph was unable to survive after Jaffe improved to the higher two pair on the river, and the latter moved up to 1,300,000.

Just moments later, Randolph was joined at the payout desk by Matt Perry.

Perry was all in preflop holding {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} and up against Joel Feldman's {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

The board fell {4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}, and Feldman hit a straight on the river to deny Perry the double up and signal the Englishman's elimination.
