One Flop in Sight

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Adam Hendrix scooped the blinds twice and Sylvain Loosli did so once with a pot-sized raise to 175,000.

Joel Feldman then raised to 150,000 in the cutoff and was called by Francesco Grande on the button and James Park in the big blind. Park bet the {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop for 200,000 and forced two folds.

Montgomery Doubles Through Spurlin

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Jordan Spurlin raised to 125,000 and saw Kyle Montgomery reraise pot to 450,000, with another 200,000 back.

Spurlin moved all in when the action folded back to him, and Montgomery called to put his tournament life on the line.

Spurlin: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Montgomery: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}

Board: {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}

"I'll take that, it's fine," said Montgomery optimistically after seeing he was behind to Spurlin's hand.

But Montgomery had reason to be positive as he paired his ace on the flop to take the lead and held as the cards completed to score a vital double up.

Razov Takes From Alaei

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Daniel Alaei raised to 125,000 on the button and Andrey Razov defended his big blind to see a flop of {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, on which he check-called a bet of 75,000.

After the {9-Hearts} turn, Razov check-called a second barrel for 225,000 and they checked the {5-Hearts} on the river. Razov tabled {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} for a straight and won the pot.

Jordan Spurlin Eliminated in 16th Place ($36,791)

Daniel Alaei raised to 125,000 on the button and Jordan Spurlin three-bet the pot for a big portion of his stack out of the big blind. Alaei pushed all in and Spurlin called.

Jordan Spurlin: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Daniel Alaei: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop left Spurlin with a gutshot, but he picked up some further outs on the {7-Hearts} turn. It was not meant to be for Spurlin, however, as the {3-Diamonds} river came a blank to see him depart in 16th place for $36,791.

Ausmus Takes From Park

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Jeremy Ausmus has chipped up over on table 411 after he won a few small pots and a slightly bigger three-bet pot.

James Park raised to 125,000 in the cutoff and Ausmus three-bet to 450,000 from one seat over on the button. Park came along and checked the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop, on which Ausmus bet 225,000 to win the pot right there.

Eyster Doubles Through Alaei

Kevin Eyster
Kevin Eyster

Daniel Alaei raised to 125,000 from the hijack and saw Kevin Eyster reraise to 400,000 from the big blind.

Alaei opted to call, and Eyster blind announced all in before the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop fell.

Alaei called and revealed {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} but was behind against Eyster's {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}.

The turn {q-Hearts} and river {5-Diamonds} didn't change the outcome, and Eyster moved up to 1,500,000.

Small Pots Only

Level 25 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Adam Hendrix continued to lose small pots and then defended against a raise by Dash Dudley for 125,000. They headed to a {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop and Hendrix check-folded to a continuation bet of 140,000.

One hand later, James Park opened to 125,000 and Hendrix folded out of the small blind. Park was about to muck his cards when he noticed Joel Feldman in the big blind, who made the call and initially put in 175,000. The dealer corrected the raise amount of Park and Feldman called for 125,000.

"I thought the hand was over," Park said with his hand still live. They checked the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop and Feldman check-folded the {a-Spades} turn to a bet of 225,000.

Down to the last 245,000, Cong Pham three-bet all in out of the big blind when facing a button raise by Kyle Montgomery and the latter made the call to create the following showdown.

Cong Pham: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Kyle Montgomery: {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Pham flopped a flush draw and open ender on {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts}, turned a second flush draw and a pair with the {6-Hearts}. With a ton of outs at his disposal, Pham was looking for another comeback story but the blank {2-Diamonds} followed on the river to send him to the rail in 15th place.
