Sammartino Devastates Friedman's Stack

Level 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

On the last hand before the break, Dario Sammartino raised from the small blind, and Prahlad Friedman called from the big blind. Sammartino drew one, and Friedman took two.

Sammartino bet and Friedman called, once again taking one and two cards, respectively. Sammartino bet again, Friedman raised, and got the call.

Sammartino drew one, Friedman stood pat, and the action checked through. Sammartino turned over {9-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, putting Friedman in a precarious position.

Shakerchi's Straight Ends Friedman's Day

Level 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante
Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Stud Hi-Lo

Adam Friedman got his last chips in on sixth street, and was greeted with some bad news after Talal Shakerchi called.

Adam Friedman: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} / {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Talal Shakerchi: {8-Spades}{5-Hearts} / {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}

Shakerchi made a nine-high straight and an eight-low on sixth street, and a shocked Friedman saw that he could only survive if he could find a low card on seventh street.

Shakerchi peeled the {10-Hearts} up first. Friedman took a slow peek at his card, then flung the {k-Spades} up on the felt.

"Good luck, guys," Friedman said before exiting the tournament area.

Esposito and Vitch Chop Arieh's Chips

Level 17 : 30,000/60,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

Chris Vitch: {x-}{x-} / {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts} / {x-}
John Esposito: {x-}{x-} / {7-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {x-}
Josh Arieh: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{k-Clubs} (folded on sixth)

Chris Vitch was the bring in. John Esposito completed and Arieh and Vitch called. On fourth and fifth streets, action checked to Vitch who bet and received calls by both players.

Action again checked to Vitch on sixth and he bet once more. Esposito announced a raise and Arieh thought for about a minute before folding. Vitch three-bet and Esposito called.

Both players checked the river and Vitch announced a pair of aces with a six-low, tabling {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

Esposito tabled {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{7-Spades} for jacks up, good for the high as the two split the pot.
