Hoang Takes a Pot

Level 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Kate Hoang is back up to a little over after winning the last pot. The player under the gun opened to 600 and only Hoang got involved, calling behind in middle position.

On the {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop, the initial raiser check-called Hoang's 1,000 bet. There was no further betting on the {a-Diamonds} turn or the {5-Hearts} river and the cards were flipped on their backs.

Kate Hoag: {8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

With the board not qualifying for a low hand, Hoang took the pot with the better of the two full houses.

Joe Hachem
Joe Hachem

Former Main Event Champion Joe Hachem has been chipping away and despite losing the minimum in the most recent hand he was involved in, he has added more than 10,000 to his stack in the last hour and a half.

Just now he open limped on the cutoff and the button and small blinds came along before the big blind checked their option. The flop was the {6-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and the blinds and Hachem checked to the button, who took the pot down with a 600 bet.

Hawkins on Fumes

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

Maurice Hawkins has been left very short after losing a big pot against Stanislav Parkhomenko. Action was on the turn with {2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{5-Hearts} down and after Hawkins and the player to his left checked in the small and big blinds respectively, Parkhomenko made a pot-sized bet of 6,500 and Hawkins moved all in over the top. There was a quick fold from the big blind and Parkhomenko made an equally quick call.

Stanislav Parkhomenko: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Maurice Hawkins: {10-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

The river brought the {9-Hearts}, giving Parkhomenko the nuts with the ace-high flush for the high and three-four beating Hawkin's three-six for the low hand.

Barraclough on the Up

Level 1 : 100/100, 0 ante

David Barraclough is on the up, despite losing a small pot just now. He flatted on the button after the under-the-gun player raised pot to 400 preflop.

They went heads up to the flop and the dealer laid {6-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{j-Spades}. The preflop raiser continued for 600 and Barraclough called. The {q-Hearts} turn and {a-Hearts} rivers were both checked and when Barraclough saw he was facing {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for two pair, he opted to muck.

Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Allen Kessler is out of the starting blocks after winning a small pot on a {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop. Kessler bet 300 into three players. "That's the first time I've voluntarily put chips into the pot", said Kessler, which may or may not have influenced his three opponents' decision to fold.
