Day 1 Chip Leaders Update

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Day 1a chip leader Arsenii Karmatckii appears to be the first player to eclipse the 2-million chip mark, getting to that number after scoring an elimination with {k-}{q-}.

Day 1b chip leader Michael Kane holds 1.4 million after folding to a three-bet from an in-position player preflop.

Day 1c chip leader Ian Simpson sits at 1.6 million, after opening to 40,000 on the button and folding to an all-in three-bet for 160,000 from the small blind.

Stone Flops a Set to Bust Sully

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Brendan Sully moved all-in under-the-gun for 159,000 and Brian Stone was two spots over and announced all-in as well. The table quickly folded behind him and the cards were tabled.

Brian Stone: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Brendan Sully: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

It was a race but the flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}, giving Stone top set and leaving Sully needing runner-runner to win the hand. On the turn {9-Hearts} Sully knew his tournament was over and the board completed with the {3-Diamonds} on the river.

Pinho Aggressive With the Big Stack

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Luis Pinho came into the day as the overall chip leader, as he's putting those chips to use as Level 20 winds down.

In a pot against two players on the blinds, the action checked to Pinho, who bet 40,000 on a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. The small blind continued, and the big blind folded.

The turn came {q-Hearts}, Pinho bet another 112,000 and got the fold. Pinho is down a little but for the day but still has an impressive stack in front of him as the early levels continue on Day 2.

Yu is Eliminated

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

Igor Poldiaev moved all-in from under-the-gun for 156,000 and Ben Yu was next to act and wasted no time, putting his 151,000 in the middle. The action folded around behind and both hands were tabled.

Igor Poldiaev: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Ben Yu: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}

As soon as the cards were tabled the player on the button told Poldiaev that he folded the same hand, crushing some of his hope. The flop came {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} giving Poldiaev a gutshot to go along with his two overcards. The turn was the {k-Hearts} which was a good card for Yu, now giving him a flush draw, but the river fell {4-Clubs} making Poldiaev the bicycle straight and eliminating Yu from the tournament.

Bradley Zusman: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The big blind had both opponents covered, but it was Zusman getting the huge chip up thanks to the {7-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} runout. The small blind was eliminated and the big blind left with a short stack.

"First time I've won something in the whole freakin' series," said Zusman.

The flop was no help for Mora's opponent when it came {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}, the turn {j-Diamonds} and the river {3-Spades} gave Mora two pairs and he knocked his opponent out of the tournament.
