Martini Jams on the River

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The under-the-gun player raised to 3,000 and Julien Martini sat on the button. He called the bet and the others got out of the way.

The flop fell {j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and the initial raiser bet 4,500. Martini raised to 12,500 and his bet was called moments later. The turn was the {6-Clubs} and it checked to Martini.

The Frenchman bet 19,000 and it took a while before the bet was called. The {2-Diamonds} fell on the river and Martini pushed all in. The count was 54,100 and his opponent went into the tank for two minutes.

He ended up folding and Martini took down a nice pot right before the last level of the day.

Farrell Fires the River

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Niall Farrell called a raise to 2,600 from the big blind and checked after the flop fell the {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}.

Farrell check-called a 2,300 bet, and when the turn fell the {j-Spades}, the action checked through to the river {5-Spades}. Farrell bet 3,800 and saw it was enough to take down the pot after his opponent folded.

Miles Departs

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Tony Miles has hit the rail after being unable to spin up his late entry stack.

Miles moved all in from under the gun for 11,000 and was called by an opponent on the button.

Miles flipped over {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and saw he was in a race against {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

The {6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop was no use to Miles, and when the {9-Clubs} turn card fell, he was drawing dead. The {a-Diamonds} hit on the river to rub salt into the wound for the 2018 WSOP Main Event runner-up before he bid his farewell in the final level of the day.

McCorkell Puts Negreanu to the Test

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The board was down {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and with 27,000 in the middle, Daniel Negreanu checked from the big blind.

Craig McCorkell then put him to the test by betting 25,000, with Negreanu playing 11,000 behind.

Negreanu went into the tank debating whether to call or not, but after a minute had passed, he let up and folded, allowing McCorkell to swoop the pot.

Negreanu Doubles Through McCorkell

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

It folded all the way to Daniel Negreanu on the button and he moved all in for his last 10,300. Small blind Craig McCorkell put in a call and the player in the big blind got out of the way.

Negreanu tabled {a-Spades}{j-Spades} and he was ahead against the {a-Clubs}{3-Spades} of McCorkell. McCorkell proposed a chop but Negreanu instantly said no with a smile on his face.

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts} and both players paired their lower card. The turn was a {q-Spades} and McCorkell politely asked for a king on the river. The river was, however, the {9-Spades} and Negreanu took it all.

Double Up for Jaka

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

The complete board read {9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} and there was well over 25,000 in the middle already.

Faraz Jaka put his last chips in the middle from the big blind and it turned out to be 27,100 after the dealer counted his stack. He was eventually called by his neighbor who was under the gun and Jaka tabled {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. His straight won him the pot and his opponent was forced to show {8-}{7-}.
