Bohlman Boomerangs Back

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Scott Bohlman
Scott Bohlman

Following Scott Bohlman's loss against Brian Yoon, one would think that the payout slip for 18th place could've been filled in.

But Bohlman took down the two following hands to bounce back into contention.

The first hand started with Kevin Gerhart opening to 24,000 in middle position. Bohlman called on his left, putting in his last 18,000. Haixia Zhang raised to 72,000 from the small blind, getting rid of Gerhart. Bohlman was ahead with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs} against {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}, and he more than quadrupled when the {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{q-Clubs} board rolled out.

On the next hand, Bohlman open-shoved his 78,000 and Andreas Klatt called in the big blind. Bohlman had a worse starting hand this time, but his {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} pulled ahead of {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} on the {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{j-Spades} flop. The rest of the board ran out {8-Diamonds} and {10-Diamonds} and Bohlman doubled again.
