Sternberg Doubles Through Kokkalis to Take the Lead

Level 30 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Alan Sternberg

Alan Sternberg opened to 300,000 on the button and Evangelos Kokkalis three-bet to 1,020,000 in the small blind. Sternberg called and the two players went heads-up to a flop of {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} in an already inflated pot.

Kokkalis led out for 2,160,000 and Sternberg shoved all in for 3,080,000. Kokkilas quickly called and the cards were tabled.

Evangelos Kokkalis: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Alan Sternberg: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The {8-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing and Sternberg was looking to dodge a queen or ten to score a double up. The {3-Diamonds} completed the board and Sternberg scored a massive double up with two pair to take the chip lead.
