Romero vs. Deadman

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The board fell {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and James Romero bet 80,000 from the small blind.

Simon Deadman called in the big blind, and the {7-Clubs} hit the river.

Romero fired for 200,000 and Deadman, sat with 217,000, went into the tank.

Deadman sat thinking for a minute before he asked for a confirmation of the bet.

"You left me 17,000 to spin up if I lose, that's kind of you" joked Deadman.

Deadman's humor at the situation brought smiles to the faces of his tablemates except for Romero who remained deadly still.

Deadman thought for another 30 seconds before he checked his cards for the final time and folded.

Romero picked up the pot and moved over 1,300,000.

Roberts Sees a ''Nice Flop''

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Lauren Roberts
Lauren Roberts

The board already read {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Lauren Roberts sat on the button as she was facing a bet of 80,000 from Ramin Hajiyev from early position in a pot of about double the size of that.

Roberts went for the raise as she put 200,000 in the middle and Hajiyev wanted confirmation of the bet size before he called.

The {9-Hearts} river completed the board and Hajiyev checked to Roberts who eventually checked behind. Hajiyev showed {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs} but that couldn't beat the {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} that Roberts showed.

Roberts her neighbor, Gal Yifrach, commented on the nice flop and Roberts agreed to that.

Chen Doubles Through Chip Leader Agarwal

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Dong Chen
Dong Chen

Alan Goehring raised from the hijack to 35,000 and chip leader Anuj Agarwal called from the cutoff. Dong Chen sat in the small blind and he decided to move all in for his last 273,000. The others folded quickly until Agarwal was up again.

Agarwal took his time to think it through and apologized to the table for taking his time. He ended up making the call and they tabled their hands.

Dong Chen: {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Anuj Agarwal: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Agarwal was happy to see that had two live cards but he couldn't hit any of them on the {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} run out. Chen even managed to improve to an unnecessary straight to double up.

Gonsalves Pressures Yifrach

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

The flop fell {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, and Gal Yifrach checked from the big blind.

Markus Gonsalves bet from the hijack, and Yifach called before the {k-Hearts} hit the turn.

Yifrach then check-called a 115,000 bet from Gonsalves and checked for the third time after the {2-Spades} peeled off on the river.

Gonsalves thought for a minute then cut a 300,000 bet from his stack and slid it into the middle.

Yifrach went into the tank with 320,000 behind, and both players remained silent.

Close to two minutes ticked past before Yifrach made up his mind and gave in the to pressure from Gonsalves and folded.

"Show one?" asked tablemate Stefan Huber.

"Come on, it's for PokerNews," he added.

Ramin Hajiyev jokingly placed his hand over one of Gonsalves' cards and asked if he could show it.

Gonsalves obliged and Hajiyev flipped over the {j-Clubs} for all to see.
