Kessler the Center of Attention

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

Allen Kessler, on a short stack, was in the tank under the gun and a player called the clock. Kessler protested the clock, saying it hadn't been that long and he was thinking of whether to put all of his chips in, knowing he was committed for a third of his stack or so on the next hand.

Antonio Esfandiari heard the commotion from a neighboring table.

"What happened, Kessler?" he asked.

"Allen was stalling and someone called the clock," Dan Colpoys said from a nearby table.

"No, I wasn't stalling at all," Kessler protested.

Adam Friedman chimed in from another table.

"There's another 67 spots until the pay jump, Allen, you're good to go," Friedman said.

Esfandiari and Friedman then debated over who had the right to needle Kessler first. Kessler said something about Esfandiari offering to be his life coach, and someone else said there wasn't much hope for changing Kessler's ways.

"If he listens to everything I say for a week, there's hope," Esfandiari declared. "I promise you, there's hope."

Charlton showed no diamond with the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Barton triumphantly turned over the winner with the {3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} to take the pot.

Walters Wins Flip To Start the Day

Level 21 : 12,000/24,000, 24,000 ante

Sejin Park raised to 50,000 from middle position and Joseph Walters shoved all in from the hijack. Park asked for a count and it was totaled to be 475,000. After a minute or so, Park made the call.

Sejin Park: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}
Joseph Walters: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The dealer fanned a flop of {7-Spades}{q-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Park chuckled as it was displayed, being left with two outs. The turn came {j-Hearts} and the river {a-Spades} sealed Walters' double up with a bit of overkill, giving him the nuts and putting him over one million in chips early into Day 5.

Andrew Shack
Andrew Shack

Chris Hunichen raised to 55,000 and Andrew Shack moved all in from one seat over. The rest of the table folded and Hunichen asked for a count. While the dealer determined it to be 422,000 total, Shack already took out his smartphone and had the camera ready to record a possible showdown, which prompted laughter at the tables.

Some small talk emerged and Hunichen asked: "what do you want me to do?" Half a minute later, he made the call and the cards were turned over.

Andrew Shack: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Chris Hunichen: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop improved Hunichen to a pair of queens and he remained in the lead on the {3-Hearts} turn and {2-Diamonds} river. Both shook hands and Shack headed to the payout desk.
