Elias Among Busted

Blinds: 400/800/100

Darren Elias got his remaining 10,427 in preflop with {7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} but early position opener "Clyde1848" had him pipped with pocket eights. The board brought nothing to help Elias.

Vilchez Bluffs Off into Quads

Blinds: 200/400/50

Three players saw a {4-Spades}{6-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop for 3,600 apiece, a three-bet from Ivan "Negriin" Vilchez on the button. Vilchez continued for 2,950 and only Jarkko "Long Drink" Nystrom, the under-the-gun opener, called. Nystrom check-called another 8,050 on the {4-Diamonds} turn, bringing a {10-Hearts}.

A final check from Nystrom led to a Vilchez shove for 24,372 and Nystrom clicked call with the nuts. Vilchez had been bluffing with {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.

Timmis Aflame

Blinds: 150/300/35

No player is off to a hotter start than Craig Timmis.

On a board of {9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{q-Hearts}, several players checked to Timmis on the button, and he bet 2,122. Only "poseidon090" called. That player led for 3,537 on the {k-Clubs} turn and Timmis stuck around for a {9-Hearts} river. poseidon090 checked and Timmis shoved for more than twice the 14K pot effective.

poseidon090 called with {a-}{9-} but was smashed the whole way by {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}.

A little before that, Timmis got all in on the flop with bottom two pair against a king-high flush draw to score another KO.

Almost a Cary Bet

Blinds: 150/300/35

Kaspar "Encephale" Sein raised to 750 under the gun and both blinds called. On the {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} flop, Sein continued for 835. The small blind folded but Jason Koon fired in a raise to 2,335. That was the price for the {j-Clubs} turn, which checked through. On the {7-Clubs} river, Koon bet 600 into 7,200 or so and Sein called with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Koon has a weaker pocket pair with {6-Clubs}{6-Spades} and conceded the pot.

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #49: $500 Turbo Deepstack No Limit Hold'em

2013 Bracelets
2013 Bracelets

The stage is set for a turbo blastfest here at Event #49: $500 Turbo Deepstack No Limit Hold'em. It's time for someone to win a bracelet in a hurry.

Players begin this event with 40,000 in their stacks and blinds going up every eight minutes. The structure starts at 100/200/25 and progresses from there, with eight-handed play throughout until a nine-handed final table. Players may reenter up to two times should they run dry on chips during the 100-minute late registration period.

While this event will run without a guarantee, there's already nearly 800 players registered and more than $350,000 in the prize pool. And it's safe to say, given the format and comparatively low buy-in as far bracelet shots go, plenty more bullets will be fired.

Among the players already registered are GGPoker's own Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier and Felipe Ramos, as well as Andrew Neeme, Lim Yo "BoxeR" Hwan, Manig Loeser, Adam Owen and recent bracelet winner Yuri Dzivielevski.

Virtual cards begin flying at 4 p.m. EDT. Keep an eye here throughout the next several hours as a turbo bracelet is claimed.
