Event #9: $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty Kicks-Off at 5 PM GMT

Welcome to Day 1 of the ninth event on the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online schedule. Action will kick off at 5 p.m. GMT in Event #9: $525 Superstack Turbo Bounty with 350 players already locked in and ready to go an hour before the event begins.

This tournament will see all players begin with 50,000 in chips and a structure that has eight-minute blind levels. Although the title does not specify, this is indeed a progressive bounty and every eliminated will earn the winner of the hand a bounty worth at least $125.

The action for today's event will play through until a champion is crowned, taking down the first-place money, including their own bounty, and a shiny new WSOP bracelet.

Gong Finds a Cooler to Send Alt to the Rail

Chuanjin "happinesse" Gona called a raise of 375 from Dinesh "NastyMinder" Alt, and "KuvasiK" then bumped it up to 1,496. Both called to see the {q-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop where all three checked and an {8-Hearts} turn peeled off.

Alt led out for 4,464 and Gong was the only caller. The river came down a {3-Spades} and Alt bet 11,578. Gong ripped in his stack for a total of 48,309 and Alt snapped for less, calling his remaining 26,919 that was behind.

Alt tabled {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a boat but his chips still moved into the stack of Gong who held {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, giving him the nuts with his quad snowmen, dropping Alt from the field early.

"mulungo" opened to 500 from under the gun and Gianmarco "K6Allin" Benincasa raised to 1,792 directly on their left. A 5,000 four-bet hit the felt by "mulungo" and Benincasa called to see the {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop.

"mulungo" continued for 6,750, Benincasa called and the {2-Clubs} turn landed. Another bet came from "mulungo", this time for 16,500, and again Benincasa called. The board was completed by an {a-Clubs} and "mulungo" shoved 18,493.

Benincasa took a moment but in the end, he called and was relieve to see "mulungo" table {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for complete air. Benincasa showed his {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}, giving him two pair and more than enough to scoop the pot, collecting the bounty of "mulungo".

Brian Green opened to 1,500 and "SePico77" three-bet, making it 3,260 to go. "Tianliang "tinagg" Guan four-bet to 8,500 and action folded to "SePico77" who raised it up to 13,740. Guan jammed his 31,528 stack and "SePico77" called in the 13,135 they had left behind.

Tianliang "tinagg" Guan opened to 1,500 and Yun Hong "sheila0703" Yang called. Olivio "Bigfatfatop" Gontijo three-bet to 6,000, both players called and the {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop landed.

Action checked to Gontijo, he bet 5,475, Guan dipped out and Yang check-called. The {5-Hearts} turn hit down and Gontijo put in enough to cover Yang who called her 17,070 into the middle.

Yang showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for top pair but was drawing dead when the well-known twitch streamer tabled {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}, giving him a set of johnnies. The {k-Clubs} completed the board and Yang was sent packing, shipping a bounty to Gontijo who now has over 100,000.

"Xyc888" raised to 7,018, "smww" folded and Kim raised to 22,405. "Xyc888" shoved over the top for a total fo 42,345 and Kim snapped, putting "Xyc888" at risk.

"don chimbo" opened to 2,100 in the cutoff, Jean-Noel "OscarBrown" Thorel made it 8,800 in the small blind and Tianliang "tinagg" Guan called in the big. "don chimbo" called as well and the {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop rolled out.

Guan jammed 27,983 and Thorel snapped him off after "don chimbo" ducked out. Thorel tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and was well in front of the {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades} of Guan.

The {8-Diamonds} turn was of no help for either and Guan was on the brink of taking a walk until the {9-Hearts} river smashed down, hitting him with a boat to crack the jacks and take home the cake, pulling in a double through Thorel.
