The flop was {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. The {k-Hearts} turn put Gycenfer ahead and McCormick was one card away from elimination, but the {8-Hearts} river gave him a flush to keep him alive as he tilted his head back, thankful for his good fortune.

McCormick Finds Ace to Double

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 0 ante

Tom McCormick raised from middle position and Ian Glycenfer re-raised from the cutoff. Action folded back to McCormick who called off the rest of his stack.

Tom McCormick: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Ian Glycenfer: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}

McCormick was looking for an ace and didn't find it on the {4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop. However, the {a-Hearts} hit the felt on the turn to put him ahead and the {j-Diamonds} completed the board to confirm the double.

After the hand, Yuval Bronshtein mentioned that he didn't want to tell McCormick during the hand but he had also folded an ace, making McCormick's double even more unlikely.
