Monnette Rivers a Straight

Level 22 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Eric Kurtzman opened with a raise on the button and John Monnette re-raised from the small blind. Kurtzman called and the dealer fanned the flop of {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}. Monnette bet and Kurtzman called to see the {10-Diamonds} on the turn.

Monnette checked this time and Kurtzman threw in a bet which Monnette called. The river was the {k-Diamonds} and Monnette led out now. Kurtzman went into the tank for a moment but still called. Monnette showed {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a straight and Kurtzman couldn't beat it.
