Nick Guagenti and Scott Bohlman were reduced to short stacks and the former folded in three-way action when Jesse Klein bet open showing kings. Daniel Negreanu called and did so again on sixth. They checked seventh and Klein rolled over the for kings and tens, which won the pot.
Guagenti then lost the last few big bets shortly thereafter.
On the tail end of a pot between Ben Yu in the big blind and John Monnette, the completed board showed . With 225,000 in the pot, Yu checked and Monnette bet. Yu tank-called and was good with for a pair of tens and an eight-five low, as Monnette only had the .
Scott Bohlman was all-in after fourth with a pair of queens and then improved to two pair against the pocket kings of Daniel Negreanu. On sixth, Bohlman made two pair to take the lead.
Negreanu peeled his final card but the was a brick giving Bohlman the double.
While Phil Hellmuth chipped up, it was John Monnette on the verge of elimination. He bet each street and moved all-in blind for the last 15,000 prior to seventh. Adam Friedman stuck around until then but folded to the last three chips after bricking his draw.
David Benyamine doubled through Philip Sternheimer and the Brit then defended the flop against Roland Israelashvili with a check-call. The turn was checked by both, and Sternheimer check-raised the river. Israelashvili called but mucked when he was shown for a flopped straight.
Sternheimer then chopped a pot with Matt Glantz when both made the top pair on a board. Sternheimer had the and Glantz chopped with when they checked down the river.
The action was picked up on sixth street with a bet by Glaser and a call from Friedman.
Seventh street saw Glaser bet once more, and Friedman called all-in for less. Glaser tabled his hole cards of for two pair, kings and nines, Friedman mucked and was eliminated from the tournament.
John Monnette was all-in with split sixes and Ben Yu had raised with "nothing" as per the table chat but caught an open pair of jacks on fifth. Monnette regained the lead on sixth with nines and sixes but asked for a deuce, which would have given Yu superior two pair. YU bricked with a king and that secured the double.
In the meanwhile, the tides have changed once more as Daniel Negreanu chipped up a lot.
Benny Glaser then took the lead in the final hand of the level when he raised fifth against Marco Johnson.
