Silver Takes a Chunk From Pan

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Nate Silver
Nate Silver

Limit Hold'em

Nate Silver raised in the cutoff and got three-bet on the button by Qinghai Pan. Silver called.

Silver check-called the flop of {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}, then checked again on the {a-Hearts} turn. This time, Pan checked back.

The river brought the {q-Spades}, and Silver led out. Pan didn't take long to call, and Silver showed {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for a flopped full house.

Pan flashed the {a-Spades} then tossed his hand into the muck. With the loss, the chip leader's stack fell below 600,000 for the first time in quite a while.

Anderson Eliminated, Benson Survives

Level 15 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Stud Hi-Lo

A three-way pot developed between Peiwen Wang and short stacks Gary Benson and Calvin Anderson.

On fifth street, Anderson got the last of his chips in with his up cards of {4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Wang then raised to put Benson at risk as well, with him showing {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} and Wang showing {7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}.

The hands were exposed with Wang already having made a full house of eights over sevens. Benson ended up making a seven- low for half the pot along with an irrelevant ace-high flush, and Anderson mucked his hand as he was eliminated from the tournament.

At an adjacent table, Andrew Yeh was also eliminated, leaving just five more eliminations until the money.
