Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Maurice Hawkins picked up momentum following a few early hands.

Hand one: The flop was {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Hawkins had bet 2,800 to the only other player in the hand and he mucked. Hawkins then said "some people you don't want to wake up."

Hand two: Hawkins limped in from early position and another player raised to 2,100. It folded around to Hawkins who also mucked.

Hand three: From early position Hawkins raised to 1,000 and only the button made the call. The board was checked all the way down to the river to read {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The button bet 1,800 which Hawkins snap-called and showed his {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} which was good to win the pot.

Another player at the table said "I didn't mean to wake you up Maurice" Hawkins smiled and said "you woke me the f*** up".

Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

Action was picked up preflop with Jeff Platt's stack of 13,000 at risk and another player debating a call after putting 3,300 out there prior. The other player called and the cards were tabled.

Jeff Platt: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

The flop was safe enough for Platt with an {a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} but the turn {q-Spades} left Platt drawing to three outs. Unfortunately the river {j-Hearts} was not one of those outs and Platt was eliminated from the tournament.

Justin Arnwine: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Platt Finds Life

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Jeff Platt
Jeff Platt

Action folded to the player on the button who called the big blind. Jeff Platt in the small blind raised to 3,700. The big blind folded and action went back to the button who called.

The flop came down {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and Platt led for 2,900. The button raised to 10,000 and after briefly thinking about it, Jeff Platt went all in for 40,200. The button asked for a count and then called.

Jeff Platt: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Button: {j-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Platt's flush draw was no good as his opponent held the higher flush draw. Platt needed to hit his straight or running cards to stay alive.

Luckily for him, the turn came a {q-Spades}, giving Platt a straight and putting his opponent in need of completing his flush. The river came out a {6-Diamonds} which kept Platt ahead and he raked in the pot.

Adrian Mateos: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Rupesh Pattni: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Covering stack: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The river came {q-Hearts} the last remaining queen in the deck, giving Pattni a set. Mateos tapped the table, wished his tablemates a good game and left the tournament area as Pattni not only scored a double, but a knockout of Mateos.

Farrell Doubles Up

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Niall Farrell
Niall Farrell

Niall Farrell raised to 4,000 in the hijack and the big blind defended.

The flop came down {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and the big blind checked the action over to Farrell who continuation bet for 3,000. The big blind decided on raising to 9,500. Farrell gave it some time before he decided to call.

The turn came a {k-Clubs} and the big blind bet once more to the tune of 7,000, and Farrell called once more.

The river was a {2-Diamonds} and the big blind went all-in for effectively 20,600. Farrell looked back at his hand, then put his chips in for the call. The opponent grimaced as he turned over {8-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a missed straight and flush draw. Farrell turned over {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for aces and nines which was good for the pot.
