Jonathan Betancur
Jonathan Betancur

Taylor Pollard opened the action on the button to 60,000. Jonathan Betancur defended.

The flop came {6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Betancur checked and Pollard continued for 50,000 to which Betancur called.

The {5-Hearts} was the turn card. Pollard threw out a bet of 125,000 when it was checked to him. Betancur then three-bet min-raised to 250,000 which induced a four-bet shove from Pollard. Betancur snap-called having Pollard barely covered.

Taylor Pollard: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Jonathan Betancur: {10-Spades}{3-Hearts}

The {7-Hearts} completed the board. Betancur flopped trip threes to advance to the final round.

Dominykas Mikolaitis: {q-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
David Tran: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Tran had a dominating hand and held as the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

Tran praised his opponent for a tough heads-up battle and said he learned from him. He is the penultimate player making the final table and only one table remains for the day.

The flop came {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and the action checked through.

Schumacher Prevails Over Bruschi to Clinch Last Seat at Final Table

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Johan Schumacher
Johan Schumacher

Johan Schumacher jammed in his remaining stack for about 750,000 chips. Renan Bruschi quickly called and hands were revealed in the first large pot in a while.

Johan Schumacher: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Renan Bruschi: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

Bruschi had Schumacher pipped, but the cards were yet to come. The dealer fanned out the {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop. On the turn, the {k-Spades} hit the felt to put Schumacher ahead with Broadway, as he gave a silent fist pump. Bruschi was looking for a chop, but the {7-Clubs} completed the board to leave him as the short stack, and leave him muttering presumably unhappy phrases in Portuguese.

On the next hand, Bruschi shoved in his remaining stack and Schumacher called.

Renan Bruschi: {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Johan Schumacher: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}

Bruschi had live cards, but the {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} runout didn't change a thing, and he was sent to the rail.

The two players slugged it out in heads-up play for nearly four hours and they both agreed it was a "sick match". In the end, Schumacher claimed victory and will be the one to move on to the final table tomorrow.

A recap of the day is to follow.
