Abrams First Casualty in the Money

Level 16

No-Limit Hold'em

Once the money bubble burst, there were three all-in and call but just one of them led to an elimination. Scott Abrams got his short stack in via three-bet jam with the {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and was looked up by the initial raiser Robert McLaughlin, who tabled {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}.

The mighty pair held on a {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Diamonds} board and Abrams became the first casualty in the money.

Roberts Takes From Ho

Level 16

Stud Hi-Lo

Maria Ho: {x-}{x-} / {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} / {x-}
Christian Roberts: {x-}{x-} / {5-Spades}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} / {x-}

Maria Ho completed with a king and bet fourth with a suited king, which Christian Roberts called with the words "I gonna make a very nitty call." Ho then checked fifth and called a bet by Roberts before doing so again on sixth and seventh. Roberts turned over {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a flush and seven low to earn it all as Ho exposed the {a-Diamonds}.

"I gonna guess you had aces with the ace of diamonds," James Woods said in table chat and Ho confirmed that before tossing her cards into the muck. Despite losing the pot, Ho remains among the biggest stacks on the stone-cold money bubble.

Hartmann Doubles on the Bubble

Level 16
Tony Hartmann
Tony Hartmann

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Matt Waxman had previously doubled through Tony Hartmann who then inquired if Waxman had indeed earned the full pot. The table chat went back and forth for several minutes as the money bubble was reached.

Ultimately, the previous decision stood and Hartmann was on a short stack. He defended out of the small blind against a cutoff raise by Matthew Schultz and both took one card each. They checked and took another card each for Hartmann to check-call. Hartmann then took one and Schultz patted.

The shove of Hartmann for 12,500 followed and Schultz called to get shown {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for a wheel as Hartmann doubled on the bubble.

Mizrachi Eliminates Himes; Hand-for-hand Play Begins

Level 16
Robert MizrachI
Robert MizrachI

Pot-Limit Omaha

The hand was discovered on a board of {j-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and Ryan Himes all-in and at-risk versus Robert Mizrachi.

The hands were tabled and it was the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for a flopped broadway straight held by Mizrachi that was ahead of the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for one pair of tens held by Himes.

The turn card was the {j-Clubs} and Mizrachi remained ahead.

The river card was the {9-Diamonds} and that sealed the deal from Mizrachi, which in turn eliminated Ryan Himes.

With 49 players remaining and 48 places paid, the tournament director has announced that play will continue hand-for-hand until we lose one more player. At that point, all remaining participants will be in the money.

Kelsall Takes From Pan

Level 16

Stud Hi-Lo

Qinghai Pan: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs} / {x-}
Andrew Kelsall: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} / {x-}

Andrew Kelsall faced a bet by Qinghai Pan on sixth when the latter had made a pair of aces and he called with a pair of sevens, which he had already picked up on fourth. Pan then bet seventh and Kelsall raised for Pan to call. Kelsall tabled the {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for sevens full of fives and that won a very healthy pot.

In the meanwhile, Brian Rast was eliminated on another table to reduce the field to the last 50 players and 48 will make the money.

The Money Bubble is Looming

Level 16
Toby Lewis
Toby Lewis

Pot-Limit Omaha

The cards were already exposed as Toby Lewis got his chips in before the flop and was looked up by Matt Szymaszek. Lewis had the hand over his cards as he witnessed the board running out {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Szymaszek rivered broadway with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Spades} to earn the pot.

Lewis grabbed his cards and tossed them into the muck before storming out of the tournament area. Shortly after, Brandon Bergin and Yuri Dzivielevski were eliminated to reduce the field to the final 51 contenders.
