Things Get Chippy With Teams Newman and Ruter

Level 26 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Samy Dighlawi of Team Ruter opened in early position and Michael Newman of Team Newman three-bet to 300,000 as the player next to act. Dighlawi called.

The flop came out {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Newman moved all-in for around 1,900,000 and Dighlawi folded. Newman showed {a-}{a-} and Dighlawi criticized the way his opponent played the premium hand, which led to a hostile back-and-forth between the two players.

"Let me know when you want to give me lessons," Newman said sarcastically after listing his tournament achievements.

No Chopped Pot for Team Newman and Team Wolf

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Michael Newman of Team Newman raised to 160,000 from the button and Tomer Wolf of Team Wolf defended his big blind.

The flop came {k-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, Wolf check-called the 100,000 continuation-bet of Newman.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Wolf checked again. Newman bet 125,000 and was called again.

The river completed the board with the {q-Clubs} and they both checked. Wolf tabled the {k-Spades}{8-Hearts} while Newman held the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for the same pair.

"Chop it up!" Wolf said while the dealer was awarding the pot to Newman with the higher kicker.

"Everyone loves a chopped pot!" Wolf's rail chanted until they realized that the pot went to Newman.

Team Adam Eliminated in 5th Place ($25,928)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Vidur Sethi
Vidur Sethi

Mike Ruter of Team Ruter opened to 175,000 on the button and Michael Newman flat-called in the small blind. Vidur Sethi of Team Adam then three-bet jammed for 785,000 from the big blind. Ruter and Newman both called.

The flop came {9-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} and Ruter bet 1,100,000 when checked to. Newman snap-folded pocket queens face-up.

Vidur Sethi: {a-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Mike Ruter: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Sethi was dominated by the trip kings of his opponent and his rail was calling for spades. The rail got excited when the {7-Spades} on the turn gave their guy a flush draw. The {a-Spades} on the river gave him the flush, but it was no good against the full house of Ruter.

Team Wolf Doubles Through Team Newman

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Michael Newman of Team Newman raised in the small blind and Tomer Wolf of Team Wolf moved all-in for 1,100,000 in the big blind.

"Oh my god. I need a count," Newman said before making the call.

Tomer Wolf: {a-Hearts}{4-Hearts}
Michael Newman: {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Wolf was dominated but got flush outs from the flop of {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}. He hit his flush with the {k-Hearts} on the turn and doubled up after the {q-Diamonds} on the river as Newman pulled his hat over his face in frustration.

Team Newman Eliminated in 4th Place ($35,542)

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Michael Newman
Michael Newman

Michael Newman of Team Newman opened to around 200,000 from the small blind and Tomer Wolf of Team Wolf three-bet jammed in the big blind with his opponent covered. Newman called off for around 1,300,000.

Michael Newman: {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
Tomer Wolf: {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}

Wolf was ahead with pocket eights but the flop of {q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} gave Newman plenty of outs with straight and flush draws and an overcard. But the runout of {9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} brought the wrong red cards and Newman was eliminated in fourth place.

"I flopped the world," Newman told his rail afterward.

Team Wolf Makes the Right Call

Level 27 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Tomer Wolf of Team Wolf raised to 200,000 from the button and Samy Dighlawi of Team Ruter defended the big blind.

They both checked through the {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop to the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Dighlawi bet 180,000 and Wolf called.

The river completed the board with the {2-Diamonds} and Dighlawi checked for the final time. Wolf bet 225,000 for Dighlawi to quickly raise it up to 600,000 to send Wolf into the tank. He cut out calling chips, riffled them for a while, and then made the call. Dighlawi tabled the {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for the bluff for Wolf to show the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for two pair and the big pot.

Amanda Botfield
Amanda Botfield

Samy Dighlawi of Team Ruter opened from under the gun and Amanda Botfeld of Team Botfeld three-bet jammed a stack of around 900,000. Dighlawi called.

Amanda Botfeld: {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}
Samy Dighlawi: {a-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

Botfeld took the lead with a pair of fives on the flop of {10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, but the {9-Clubs} peeled off on the turn to give Dighlawi a flush and have Botfeld drawing dead heading to the {3-Diamonds} river.

It was a great run for Botfeld and her tag-team partner/dad, David Botfeld, who taught his daughter the game at a young age.
