Long Doubles on Simao

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante
Joao Simao
Joao Simao

Pot-Limit Omaha

On a three-way pot with a flop reading {2-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, John Esposito checked and Nick Long bet 3,500. Joao Simao raised it to 10,000 in the cutoff and Long called after Esposito let it go.

The turn brought the {5-Diamonds} and Long checked. Simao tossed a pile of chips in the middle, putting Long at risk for a stack worth 23,600. Long quickly called and they tabled their cards:

Nick Long: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Joao Simao: {a-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}

Long already hit a full house while Simao had trips, and Long took down the pot after the {a-Diamonds} fell on the river.

Vezina Wins Massive Pot With a Queen

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

There was already around 50,000 in the middle by the river on a board of {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. Gabriel Vezina was in the cutoff and moved all in for 31,800, putting the decision on his opponent sitting in early position.

The early position player called and Vezina turned over {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a flopped pair of queens. That was good enough to win the massive pot as his opponent mucked.

Ruben Goes Runner-Runner on Andrade

Level 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

According to Gabriel Andrade, he just dropped a big pot to Bradley Ruben after Ruben hit two perfect cards on the turn and river.

Andrade raised to 2,000 pre-flop and got five calls. He bet another 10,000 on the {k-}{10-}{3-} flop and only Ruben called. The turn came the {9-} and both players checked.

Ruben led out for 15,000 on the {6-} river and Andrade called with {k-}{k-}{q-}{10-} for the flopped set. Ruben, though had {8-}{7-}{3-}{3-} for the runner-runner straight to win the pot.

"I threw up," Andrade said.

"It's all skill," said three-time bracelet winner Ruben. "That's how you do it."
