Shevlyakov Catches Negreanu Bluffing

Level 8 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Aleksandr Shevlyakov raised to 2,600 preflop from early position and was called by a player in the cutoff and Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. All three players checked the {7-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop and saw the {5-Clubs} fall on the turn.

Negreanu led out for 5,500 and only Shevlyakov called. The {9-Spades} came on the river and Negreanu bet again, this time for 14,000. Shevlyakov took his time before calling.

"Low," Negreanu said, turning over {j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a missed flush draw. Shevlyakov won the pot with {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a pair of kings.

"Where you from," Negreanu asked Shevlyakov.

"Russia," Shevlyakov replied.

"If I knew you were from Russia I wouldn't have done that," Negreanu said.

Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

There was heads-up action between Thomas Eychenne from the hijack and Joao Vieira from the big blind with a completed board of {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} showing.

Vieira Checked his option to Eychenne who fired out a pot sized 50,000 bet. The bet sent Vieira into the tank as it would put him all in and after a few minutes in the tank, he called-off his 30,000 stack.

Eychenne quickly rolled over {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for aces full and Vieira tossed {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} into the muck.

The board ran out {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs} and Rodrigues turned the nut flush to knock out his opponent.

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Hannes Speiser and Chris Moorman were part of a three-way pot that saw the turn on a board of {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Speiser bet 8,200, the player to his left called, and action was on Moorman.

Moorman tanked for about a minute before moving all in for about 27,000. Speiser snap-called and the other player folded.

Chris Moorman: {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Hannes Speiser: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Moorman was already standing up from his chair after seeing Speiser's top two pair. The river came the {5-Clubs} and Moorman quickly left the tournament area.

Daniel Negreanu was all in preflop for around 35,000 and up against Alex Rocha.

Daniel Negreanu: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}
Alex Rocha: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

"That's bad for me," Negreanu said. He fell further behind when Rocha hit a queen on the {5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop. Negreanu picked up a straight draw on the {9-Clubs} turn but bricked the {3-Spades} river.

"That's the end for me," Negreanu said, tossing his bounty chip over to Rocha.

"I'm going to keep this one. I might not cash it," Rocha said as Negreanu made his exit.

Anthony Marquez
Anthony Marquez

There was heads-up action between Grégoire Auzoux from the cutoff and Anthony Marquez from the big blind.

With roughly 55,000 already in the middle and a completed board {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Marquez checked his option to Grégoire Auzoux who put out a stack big enough to put Marquez all in.

After some careful thought, Marquez called-off his 30,000 and quickly mucked his hand after Auzoux rolled over {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for a set of threes to collect his bounty.
