Quintal Rivers a Pair

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

In a three-way pot with roughly 120,000 in the middle, the flop read {8-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Ari Mezrich and Brad Quintal both checked to Reynaldo Magayon who bet 45,000 and only Quintal made the call.

Nguyen Eliminates Flagel

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

David Nguyen opened under the gun to 65,000 and Mark Flagel made the call on the button before Craig Varnell defended in the big blind.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Varnell checked to Nguyen who fired out a bet of 100,000. Flagel shoved his entire 460,000 stack into the middle which forced Varnell to muck quickly. Nguyen went into the tank for a full minute before throwing in a single chip to signal the call.

Mark Flagel: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
David Nguyen: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Both players flopped an over pair but Flagel was behind with his nines. The turn and river were no help for Flagel as it completed with the {k-Spades} and {8-Hearts}.
