Brunson Flops the Nuts, Gets Maximum Action

Level 4 : 300/500, 500 ante

In a hand from the PokerGo livestream, David Lolis raised in early position with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and Max Tavepholjalern put his final 3,600 chips all-in with {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. From the big blind, Doyle Brunson, holding {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}, called, as did Lolis.

The flop came out {9-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, giving "Texas Dolly" the stone-cold nuts. He opted to check, and Lolis bet 7,000 with top pair and top kicker. Brunson went for a check-raise to 17,000, and his opponent jammed for 42,200, a beautiful sight for the poker legend, who snap-called with the bigger stack.

The turn was a {k-Diamonds}, and then the {10-Spades} hit the river, which kept Tavepholjalern alive as he chopped the main pot. Brunson, however, shipped the massive side pot and sent Lolis home.
