Garzon Finishes Off Defending Champion Bronshtein

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Yuval Bronshtein
Yuval Bronshtein

Yuval Bronshtein, the 2021 $1,500 Limit Hold'em champion, was all-in for his last 5,000 in the hijack before Francisco Garzon raised on the button and Jon Kyte called in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Kyte check-folded to Garzon's continuation bet.

Yuval Bronshtein: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Francisco Garzon: {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Bronshtein was behind with his ace-high but had two overcards to Garzon's pocket pair. "Club on the turn?" asked Bronshtein politely.

The {10-Diamonds} turn didn't give him any extra equity and he couldn't connect as the {2-Clubs} rolled off on the river, eliminating his chances of back-to-back victories.

Rones Has Best No Pair

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

"See this. This is bad play rewarded," Todd Rones said while pointing to his massive stack.

He just added to his stack in a hand against Jeffrey Hill. Rones re-raised from the button and Hill called. They checked down the {6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} board.

"I have the best no pair," Rones said, showing {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Hill had {a-}{j-} and mucked.

"Good no bet. I'm very stubborn and stupid," he added.

Woodward Wins Big Off Mazzola, Knocks Out Kim

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Dan Kim opened the pot with a raise before Matthew Woodward re-raised. Alexander Mazzola called in the big blind, then Kim re-raised all in. Both opponents called.

Woodward bet on the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Mazzolla called to create a side pot. Mazzola continued to call Woodward down as the board ran out {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

Woodward turned over {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for two pair, jacks and tens, which was enough to eliminate Kim and win the big side pot off Mazzola

Lynn Sends Bronstein to the Rail

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Peter Lynn raised in middle position and Noah Bronstein came along in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Bronstein check-raised all-in for his remaining 10,500. Lynn called and both hands were tabled.

Noah Bronstein: {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Peter Lynn: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Bronstein flopped top pair and was in the lead but the {a-Clubs} on the turn left him drawing slim as the {8-Hearts} landed on the river.

Gee's Kicker Leaves Lonis Short

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Jesse Lonis raised under the gun and David Gee called in the big blind.

The dealer fanned a flop of {8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Gee checked to Lonis who continued with a bet. Gee tossed a raise into the middle and Lonis made the call.

The {q-Hearts} hit the turn and Gee fired in a bet. Lonis called.

The {7-Clubs} hit the river and both players checked. Gee tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for ace-high and Lonis sighed as he tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for ace-high with a worse kicker.
