This summer, Golden Nugget Las Vegas will play host to the 14th Annual Grand Poker Series, which features 81 events and offers over $3 million in guaranteed prize money from May 31-July 3. One of those events is the $1,100 buy-in, $1,000,000 Guaranteed PokerNews Cup that will run from June 24-28.
The tournament will feature three starting flights beginning with Day 1a at 11 a.m. PT on Friday, June 24. Days 1b and 1c will take place at the same time on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26 respectively. The surviving players from each flight will return at Noon on Monday, June 27 to play down to the final table, which will play out at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Mitchel Halverson bet his entire stack of 180,000 from the button with two players left to act. The player in the small blind folded, and Niall Farrell called from the big blind.

Halverson was still in the lead with top pair after the flop, but Farrell had a flush draw and over cards as outs.
The paired the board, giving Halverson two pair, and Farrell needed some help to improve.
Help came in the way of the on the turn to give Farrell the better two pair, and Halverson was eliminated.
Michael Monicatti was first to act and bet 20,000.
Niall Farrell was in the small blind and James Ownby was the big blind, both chose to call.
Monicatti continued on the flop of for another 20,000, which Farrell called, but Ownby was playing for it all and jammed for 295,000. Left with a choice for all of his stack, Monicatti reluctantly folded, but Farrell asked the dealer for a count.
Satisfied with his holdings, Farrell called Ownby with two cards to come, and Ownby was ahead but at risk.
