Stroh Advances with Quads over Top Boat

Action was picked up as Brian Stroh bagged his chips, but he was kind enough to recount the hand that propelled him into Day 2.

Both players limped before the flop. His opponent led for a small bet of around 3,000. Stroh called.

The turn was checked by both players, leading to the river. Stroh bombed the river for 20,000, getting his opponent to put all of his chips in the middle, before revealing his hand of , good for quad fives. His opponent had , good for top boat.

Stroh raked in the pot, sending his opponent to the rail, and himself into Day 2. Stroh will take home at least the minimum payout of $5,835.

Schulz Narrows Gap

Landon Tice limped from the button and Kevin Schulz checked his option out of the big blind.

On the flop Schulz checked to Tice, who led out for 2,500. Schulz made the call to send the two players to the turn.

The turn saw Schulz check for a second time and Tice fire off a second barrel. It was not enough to shed Schulz, who called.

Action checked through the river and Tice mucked as Schulz showed down .

Fragoso Advances with Flopped Boat

Action was picked up after the hand, but Francisco Fragoso was kind enough to recount what had happened.

Preflop, Jesse Kertland led into him for 5,000, before Fragoso raised to 20,000. His opponent called.

The flop was checked through, as was the turn. On the river, Fragoso fired for 47,000. Kertland moved all in, and Fragoso called.

Fragoso's boat had filled up on the flop, sending his opponent to the rail. Both players and the dealer seemed to believe that it was actually Kertland who had Fragoso covered, but after a quick count of both stacks, it became clear that Fragoso was already the big stack, and subsequently, had won the table and punched his ticket to Day 2. Fragoso will at least take home the minimum cash of $5,835.

On a board reading a player in the big blind checked to Eugene Katchalov on the button who bet 20,000 into a pot of 22,500. The big blind player responded with an all in and Katchalov called immediately to put his opponent at risk.

Mothes Doubles Up with Pocket Eights

Bryan Palomo opened from the button for 5,500. Paul Snead, the small blind, raised to 21,000 before Pierre Mothes shoved from the big blind for 43,100. Palomo got out of the way before Snead made the call. Snead had Mothes covered by just 700 chips.

The board ran out . Mothes' pocket eights were still good, and he doubled up. After a quick count of both stacks, it was realized that Snead was left with just 700 chips. He was eliminated a few hands later, leaving the table with heads up play between Mothes and Palomo.

Anaya Gets It Done
