Jouhkimainen Soars to the Top Spot

Level 11 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Joni Jouhkimainen
Joni Jouhkimainen

Joni Jouhkimainen had previously won a large pot and then bet a heads-up river of {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts} for 18,000, which Phil Galfond called. The Finn tabled {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for not only a straight but also flush to win the pot.

Erik Seidel then got it in with the {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} on a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} and Jouhkimainen looked him up holding the {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Spades}. Neither the {3-Clubs} turn nor the {4-Clubs} river produced a miracle for Seidel and the next pot was pushed to Jouhkimainen.

Mermelstein Rivers Third King For Over a Million Chip Pot

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Aaron Mermelstein
Aaron Mermelstein

There was a big three-way all in preflop.

Phil Galfond: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Spades}
Aaron Mermelstein: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Danny Hannawa: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades}

Danny Hanawa had the largest stack and the chance to slay two players at once. The flop came {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Spades} which pretty good as Hanawa had spades covered, but he would need to dodge straight draws. The turn was the {10-Diamonds} to pair the board but the river was the {k-Spades} to give Mermelstin a boat and render Hanawa's spades useless. Hanawa pounded the table in anger as the huge pot being was denied from his clutches.

Mermelstein reeled in the over 1,000,000 pot while Hannawa was left short and Galfond was busted.

Negreanu Will "Be Right Back"

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu started recording for his vlog when he got it in after the {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop with a shorter stack and he was up against John Riordan.

Daniel Negreanu: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
John Riordan: {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Negreanu was in dire shape and Riordan improved to a straight on the {4-Diamonds} turn, leaving his opponent with three outs only. Nothing changed on the {q-Spades} river and Negreanu left with the "onto the next one, be right back".

Karakitukov Cracks Ivey's Aces

Level 10 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Phil Ivey was forced all in on the flop of {j-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. His aces {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} were in trouble vs the flopped two pair {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} of Veselin Karakitukov.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and the river came the {7-Diamonds} to give no help to Ivey and he was busted and he quickly went to go buy right back in at the same seat.

Wolff Doubles Through Saad

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
George Wolff
George Wolff

George Wolff was moved tables not that long ago and then lost a big pot to drop back into the middle of the pack. However, he just secured a double to move back to the top of the leaderboard.

With some 220,000 in the middle to the {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, Wolff was in the big blind and tanked. He ran out of time and another player remarked that it would be a forced check, to which Wolff objected and they called the floor. Since Wolff still had time banks, he used one of them and then bet the pot.

Thomas Saad was his only opponent and moved all-in, Wolff snap-called.

George Wolff: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Thomas Saad: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs}

Saad had some outs but the {10-Diamonds} river was not among them for Wolff to double for 324,000 total. Due to the delay and discussion, the hand only concluded several minutes into the new level.

Maksimov Runs Into the Nut Flush

Level 8 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Artem Maksimov
Artem Maksimov

Heads-up to the {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts} turn, Artem Maksimov bet 27,000 in the cutoff and then faced a raise to 71,000 by Krasimir Yankov on the button. After giving it some thought, Maksimov reluctantly called with 86,500 behind.

On the {10-Clubs} river, Maksimov checked and Yankov glanced at the stack of his table neighbour before splashing in a bet worth 150,000. Maksimov exhausted five of his six time bank extensions before eventually calling it off.

Once Yankov revealed the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for the nut flush, Maksimov flashed the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{x-}{x-} before heading to the rail.

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Joni Jouhkimainen
Joni Jouhkimainen

Joining the action on the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} turn, Isaac Kempton bet 77,000 and Joni Jouhkimainen reluctantly called in the hijack. They headed to the {j-Hearts} river on which Kempton bet the pot for 225,000.

Jouhkimainen snap-called all-in for 180,500 and his {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for broadway secured the double, as Kempton was caught with the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Winter Wins Showdown Pot Off Medarov

Level 6 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Sean Winter
Sean Winter

Four ways to the {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} turn, Vasil Medarov bet 22,000 out of the big blind. Sean Winter raised to 90,000 from under the gun and John Beauprez tanked from two seats over, used two time bank extensions to fold. Bryce Yockey also folded on the button while Medarov called.

The {q-Diamonds} on the river killed all potential action as they checked it down. Medarov tabled the {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a set of fours but Winter had that beat with a set of jacks as the cards were instantly meshed by the dealer.

Yankov Busts Razavian on River

Level 6 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Parviz Razavian
Parviz Razavian

The flop read {4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Spades}. Parvis Razavian raised a bet from Krasimir Yankov, enough to put himself all in. Yankov took a few moments before he called and the cards were revealed.

Razavian had the lead with flopped two pair {q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} against the aces of Yankov, {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}.

The turn upped Razavian's two pair by a notch as the {j-Hearts} came off. But the river was the {4-Diamonds} to pair the board and give Yankov the better two pair with aces up and Razavian was busted for the second time today.

Near Triple Up for Bleznick

Level 6 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Jared Bleznick
Jared Bleznick

The action started with a raise to 3,000 by Jared Bleznick and Robert Cowen reraised the pot from one seat over. Iaroslav Boiko, who had just won a large pot off Chris Brewer without showdown, made it 26,000 to go and Bleznick clicked it back to 36,000. Gryko flat-called and Boiko tossed in some chips, then asked in surprise "oh it was a raise?".

The dealer instantly confirmed it was a call for 36,000 and the flop fell {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades} on which Bleznick checked. Cowen bet 16,000 to force out Boiko and Bleznick then pushed for the last 33,600 to get called by Cowen.

Jared Bleznick: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}
Robert Cowen: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The {7-Diamonds} turn and {j-Diamonds} river kept Bleznick in contention as he nearly tripled up.
