Maksimov Runs Into the Nut Flush

Level 8 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Artem Maksimov
Artem Maksimov

Heads-up to the {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Hearts} turn, Artem Maksimov bet 27,000 in the cutoff and then faced a raise to 71,000 by Krasimir Yankov on the button. After giving it some thought, Maksimov reluctantly called with 86,500 behind.

On the {10-Clubs} river, Maksimov checked and Yankov glanced at the stack of his table neighbour before splashing in a bet worth 150,000. Maksimov exhausted five of his six time bank extensions before eventually calling it off.

Once Yankov revealed the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for the nut flush, Maksimov flashed the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{x-}{x-} before heading to the rail.

Dylan Smith and Isaac Kempton were eliminated with the latter re-entering soon after he ran into the double-suited aces of Jonas Kronwitter. Parviz Razavian has been moved but still has chips available on the third and final bullet.

Among the recent additions to the field is Erik Seidel, who sat down a few minutes ago.

Joining the action on the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts} turn, Isaac Kempton bet 77,000 and Joni Jouhkimainen reluctantly called in the hijack. They headed to the {j-Hearts} river on which Kempton bet the pot for 225,000.

Jouhkimainen snap-called all-in for 180,500 and his {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for broadway secured the double, as Kempton was caught with the {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Seiver Wheels Over Yockey

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The board read {8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades} on the turn with three players in the hand. From the cutoff Bryce Yockey bet 45,000. Scott Seiver called in the big blind and Joseph Wagganer pitched his cards into the muck.

The river was the {3-Spades}. Seiver checked and Yockey checked behind.

Park Jams Up His Stack

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Three ways to the {q-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} river, Krasimir Yankov bet 141,000 against James Park and Roussos Koliakoudakis. The former opted to move all-in for a fairly significant amount for Koliakoudakis to fold and Yankov only gave it a few seconds of consideration before coming to the same conclusion.

As the hand concluded, Phil Ivey took a seat followed by a TV crew who is currently filming a documentary about him.

Jattin Locks Up a Double Against Galfond

Level 7 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Farid Jattin
Farid Jattin

The cards of Phil Galfond were already in the muck as he paid off a full double to Farid Jattin, who leaned over with a smile and said "straight flush". Indeed, his {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} had made the best possible hand on the {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} board and that knocked down Galfond to fewer than half the starting stack.
