Matheny Doubles Up

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Three players saw a flop of {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. The small blind checked to Michael Matheny in the big blind who bet 1,500 and was called by a player in early position.

The small blind raised to 5,000 which prompted Matheny to move all in for 19,500. The early position player folded and the small blind made the call.

Michael Matheny: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Small Blind: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

A cooler for the small blind as Matheny hit a better set on the flop, but the small blind had draws to a flush and a straight. The {9-Clubs} on the turn was no help for the small blind and the {a-Hearts} river confirmed the double up for Matheny.

Stanfield Gets Paid On River

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

With 7,000 in the middle, three players saw a board of {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} at the river. The big blind and middle position checked to John Stanfield who put out a tantalizing bet of 3,600.

The big blind folded but the middle position player made the call. Stanfield rolled over {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for four-of-a-kind fours. The middle position player mucked their hand.

So Farrar, So Good

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

PokerNews walked up on a table just as Mark Farrar and another player were getting it all in preflop.

Mark Farrar: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-}{k-}{k-}{5-}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts} and gave Farrar top set with aces and that was enough to eliminate his opponent, giving Farrar a healthy chip stack in the process.

"Lucky massage," he mentioned to the table as he tipped his masseuse.

Zanot Survives in Multi-Way All-In

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

In a four-way pot on a board of {6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs}, the cutoff bet 2,800, followed by an all in by the button for 12,000, an all in from Thomas Zanot in the small blind for less, and an all in for 30,000 from Robert Tanita in middle postion. The original raiser in the cutoff quickly folded and since there was no more action the cards were tabled, with the button player and Zanot at risk.

Button: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Thomas Zanot: {8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Robert Tanita: {q-Clubs}{j-}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}

The {3-Hearts} river gave Zanot the nut straight with 4-5 to take down the main pot and the button player took the side from Tanita with one pair of aces.

Steady Start For Rheem

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

With 10,000 in the middle Chino Rheem bet 3,500 from the button on a board of {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and was called by a player in early position.

Rheem continued the aggression on the {9-Spades} turn with a bet of 6,500. His opponent folded and Rheem kindly showed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for a flopped set.
