Hastings Pulling Away, Deeb Defiant

Level 22
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Action folded to Brian Hastings on the button, who opened. Shaun Deeb defended out of the big blind to send the two players to the initial draw.

On the first draw, Deeb took three cards to Hastings' two. Deeb then check-called the continuation from Hastings.

The second draw saw Deeb take two cards while Hastings opted to draw one. Deeb checked for a second time and Hastings fired off another bet, which Deeb called.

Deeb drew one more card during the final draw and bet out after Hastings stood pat. Hastings made the call and Deeb, seeming to think he had won, tabled {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Hastings, however, held {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} to pip Deeb to the pot.

"I still cover you f***ng bitches," Deeb jokingly said to Daniel Zack and Eric Wasserson, the latter of whom remarked, "Do you?" as the rest of the table laughed.

Hastings, meanwhile, has started to run away with the chip lead, moving up over 5,000,000.
