Pabian Flops a Set to Double Up

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

Action was picked up as Jamie Pabian moved all in from the small blind, getting a call from the player in late position who had her covered.

Jamie Pabian: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

Pabian was ahead, and while the {9-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} paired her opponent's ace, she was still ahead with her now set of nines. The {3-Clubs} turn and {j-Hearts} river changed nothing, and Pabian's set was enough to secure the pot and double up, back to nearly a starting stack.

Hansen Busts Berkey

Level 5 : 300/500, 500 ante

During the break, a player informed PokerNews of a hand between himself, Soeren Baekgaard Hansen, and Solve for Why pro Matt Berkey.

Action began when Berkey raised from late position to 800, Hansen in the small blind and the big blind both called.

The flop was {9-}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} and after action was checked to him, Berkey fired for 1500 and was called by only Hansen.

On the {k-Spades} turn, the action went check -check.

But on the {a-Clubs} river, Hansen led out for 4,000, to which Berkey responded with a shove for all of his chips, which put himself at risk and sent Hansen into the tank.

Hansen eventually called and Berkey tabled {k-Clubs}{9-} for two pair with the nut flush blocker, but soon learned he was beat when Hansen showed {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a flush and Berkey headed to the rebuy line.

Mcdowell With the Goods

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Just before the break, on a {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{j-Spades} board, Glen Mcdowell bet and the small blind called, but then the under-the-gun player check-raised to 12,000.

Mcdowell called and the small blind folded, so the two players went to a river.

On the river {5-Spades}, the under-the-gun player checked, and then Mcdowell bet 7,500. His opponent gave a gesture as if to say he had to call beacuse he was committed and so he threw in a chip.

Mcdowell tabled {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for trip jacks and his opponent tapped the table and mucked.

Henderson Eliminates Pardy

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Action folded to Jonathan Pardy in the small blind. He moved all in with a stack below 20 big blinds. Hugh Henderson made the snap call from the big blind with Pardy covered.

Jonathan Pardy: {a-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Hugh Henderson: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

With Pardy already well behind, the flop came {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, which gave Pardy a flush draw, but gave Henderson the nut flush draw. The {j-Diamonds} turn gave Henderson a pair, and left Pardy drawing incredibly thin, needing a non-club 9 for a chopped pot in order to stay alive. That didn't happen, however, as the {6-Spades} arrived on the river, knocking out Pardy. Henderson scooped the pot to add to his stack, which is among the largest in the field.

Tice Is The King

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

Landon Tice opened and his opponent raised. Action was back on Tice who decided to shove for 21,100. His opponent called.

Landon Tice : {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Opponent : {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Tice secured a double up.

Dukes Takes Aces on Rollercoaster Ride

Level 4 : 200/400, 400 ante

After some back and forth raising, Frank Dukes and his opponent ended up getting it all in before the flop, with Dukes at risk.

Frank Dukes: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

"Ok I need a lot of help, dealer," said the player with kings.

And just like that the {k-Spades} was right in the window of a {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop. Dukes looked like we was about to be sick as he shook his head in disbelief.

But the {10-Spades} turn gave Dukes hope as he only needed one more spade to hit a flush.

Dukes must have appeased the poker gods because he got his wish when the {5-Spades} smacked down on the river, winning him the pot in a sudden turn of events.
