Joly Wins a Big One

Level 35 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

On a flop of {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}, Yita Choong and Bastien Joly were locked into a heads-up battle. Choong was first to act and he checked to Joly, who bet 600,000, then Choong check-raised to 2,400,000. After a couple of moments, Joly made the call and they went to the next street.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Choong checked again to Joly, who didn't seem worried about being check-raised for a second time, because he bet 1,500,000. No check-raise that time from Choong, he settled with just a call.

The {a-Spades} on the river saw both players check. "I have a queen," Choong told Joly as he showed {q-}{4-}. But then Joly tabled {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} for trip aces, winning him the large pot .
