Worre Flashes a Deuce

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang and Eric Worre were heads-up in a pot with the flop reading {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. Vogelsang check-called a bet of 40,000 from Worre and the {9-Hearts} landed on the turn.

Vogelsang checked again and Worre slid out a bet of 100,000. Vogelsang gave it some thought but decided to lay his hand down. Worre flashed the {2-Hearts} before his cards went into the muck which gave Vogelsang all the information he needed.

"You're for sure ahead," Vogelsang mentioned. "That was the worst card in the deck."

Smith Lands First Blow to Addamo's Title Defense

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

From the cutoff, Michael Addamo raised. Dan Smith three-bet to 75,000 from the small blind. Addam then four-bet a bit more than a click back for 160,000. Smith five-bet jammed and Addamo snap-called.

Michael Addamo: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Dan Smith: {k-Spades}{k-Spades}

Smith had Addamo covered and in big trouble as it was black kings vs red queens. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{j-Spades} to not give Addamo much outside of backdoor straight possibilities. The turn was the {3-Spades} to eliminate the queen of spades as on out for Addamo who was now drawing to only the queen of clubs. The river was the {j-Hearts} and Addamo was busted.

With the tournament being re-entry however, the field will need two blows to kill off the high roller behemoth in order to guarantee a new champion for this event.

Kornuth's Turn to Flash a Deuce

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Adrian Mateos and Chance Kornuth were left heads-up in a pot with around 330,000 in the middle already. The flop read {k-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Mateos checked from the big blind. Kornuth dropped in a bet of 95,000 and Mateos called.

The turn brought the {7-Diamonds} and Mateos checked again. Kornuth pushed out a bunch of 100,000 chips, enough to cover Mateos' stack of 375,000. Mateos reluctantly folded which got a reaction from Jason Koon at the table.

"Show the five of clubs," Koon pleaded.

"I can do better than that," Kornuth responded by showing the {2-Hearts}.

Davies Leaves One Chip Back

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Action came in on the turn with the board reading {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. From the big blind, Talal Shakerchi bet 55,000, Seth Davies called in the cutoff.

The river came down the {2-Spades}. Shakerchi checked and Davies bet 385,000 which was his whole stack except for one 5,000 chip. Shakerchi folded after a few seconds.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Jaffee was spotting busting Sergi Reixach.

Gierse Doubles, Schindler Arrives

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Marius Gierse raised it up from the cutoff and Talal Shakerchi called on the button. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {7-Diamonds} on the turn.

Gierse led out with a bet of 40,000 and Shakerchi moved all in. Gierse quickly called off his stack of 140,000 and showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Shakerchi was drawing slim with {7-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and the {2-Spades} on the river provided no help.

On the next hand, Gregory Jensen raised to 25,000 in the cutoff and Phil Ivey just called on the button. Seth Davies three-bet to 120,000 in the big blind which got Jensen to fold. Ivey, however, four-bet shoved all in for just over 700,000 and Davies was forced to fold.

Level 7 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Aleksejs Ponakovs

The board read {j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} on the turn. From the button Michael Addamo bet 60,000 into a pot of around 90,000. Aleksejs Ponakovs called from the big blind.

The river was the {k-Diamonds} to put three diamonds on the board and complete a straight draw. Addamo took a time extension before announcing a bet of 160,000. Ponakovs went into the tank and studied the three to a flush/straight and paired board. After a minute and twenty seconds based on the dealer's clock, Ponakovs called.

Addamo said "You win" and tabled the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. Ponakovs showed the {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for the winning hand as he was complemented on the call by a couple of tablemates

There Will Be a New Champion

Michael Addamo
Michael Addamo

Action was picked up on the turn as the board read {10-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. From the button, Masashi Oya bet 80,000 and Michael Addamo check-called from the big blind.

The river was the {10-Hearts} to pair the board. Addamo checked and Oya threw out three 100,000 chips to force Addamo all in for his remaining 150,000. Addam went into the tank and looked in pain before calling after a minute and forty seconds.

Oya tabled the {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for trip tens, while Addamo briefly flashed the {q-}{9-} and just like that his second bullet was gone after about 45 minutes to guarantee a new champion of the $100,000 High Roller.
