Two More for Smith

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang raised it up from under the gun and was called by Talal Shakerchi on his left and Dan Smith in the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and the action checked to Shakerchi who bet 32,000. Smith called and Vogelsang stepped aside.

The turn was the {5-Hearts} and Smith check-called another bet of 67,000 from Shakerchi. The {k-Clubs} completed the board and Smith slid out a bet which prompted a snap-fold from Shakerchi.

On the next hand, Shakerchi opened to 14,000 and Michael Addamo three-bet to 50,000 in the cutoff. Smith announced a four-bet to 155,000 which got both of his opponents to fold.

Action was picked up on a flop that read {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Under the gun, Adrian Mateos bet 40,000. Dario Sammartino check-raised from the small blind to 165,000 which Mateos called after thinking for a few moments.

The turn was the {2-Hearts}. Sammartino led for 150,000 which got Mateos to slide his cards into the muck.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Dan Smith was just recently seen getting a full double-up at the hands of Michael Addamo. On a board reading {j-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Smith was all in for 205,000 on the river. Addamo called and Smith turned over {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for two pair while Addamo called with {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

Mateos Takes One From the World Champ

Level 5 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The hand was four ways headed to the flop which came {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Adrian Mateos led under the gun for 13,000. Andrew Lichtenberger folded early position, 2021 WSOP Main Event champion Koray Aldemir called on the button and Jason Koon let it go in the big blind.

The two players saw the {7-Diamonds} fall on the turn which was checked to the {10-Clubs} river. Mateos bet 55,000 which got Aldemir to fold quickly.

Ponakovs Doubles Through Addamo

Level 4 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Aleksejs Ponakovs raised it up in early position, taking over the seat from Jason Koon. Once again, Michael Addamo stuck in a three-bet to 42,000. Ponakovs responded by shipping all in for 351,000 which put Addamo in the tank but he eventually called.

Aleksejs Ponakovs: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Michael Addamo: {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Ponakovs was in a dominating position and the flop of {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} put him well in front with a pair of kings. Addamo was looking for a straight but neither the {a-Spades} on the turn nor the {2-Spades} on the river could help him out.

Deeb Wins One, Drops the Next

Level 4 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On the turn, the board read {3-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. From middle position, Chris Brewer bet 50,000 and Freddy Deeb called from the hijack.

The river was the {10-Clubs}. Both players checked. Brewer tabled the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} which Deeb had beat with {7-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The next hand, Deeb was involved again as the flop came {3-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Darren Elias was under the gun and bet 25,000 which Deeb called.

The turn was the {5-Clubs}. This time Deeb bet for 40,000 which Elias called. The river was the {q-Spades} and both players checked.

Elias turned over the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} which won the pot as Deeb mucked.

Koon First to Hit the Rail

Level 4 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Jason Koon
Jason Koon

Jason Koon raised it up in early position and Michael Addamo three-bet to 35,000 from a couple of seats over. The action folded back to Koon who ripped all in for 325,000 and Addamo quickly called.

Jason Koon: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Michael Addamo: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

It was two black jacks up against two red kings and Koon was in need of a two-outer. The flop came {3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} which led to Koon cheering for another three and an ace. However, the {8-Clubs} and {6-Spades} runout was no help and Koon was the first player eliminated today.

"See you all in a second," Koon said upon his departure as he was getting another $100,000 ready for his single re-entry.

Von Kriegenbergh Shoves on Ausmus

Level 4 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action was on the river with a large pot of 425,000 having been accumulated.

The board read {k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Jeremy Ausmus checked from middle position. Taylor von Kriegenbergh took a few moments before jamming all in. Ausmus used up two time extensions before he eventually laid it down to send the pot over to von Krigenbergh, who has started the day off well thus far.

Addamo Calls Down Koon

Level 4 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Jason Koon opened to 12,000 from under the gun and Michael Addamo three-bet to 39,000 in middle position. The action folded back to Koon who called to see a flop of {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

Koon checked to Addamo who continued with a bet of 30,000 and Koon called. The turn brought the {7-Clubs} which slowed the action as both players checked. The {8-Clubs} on the river put four clubs on the board.

Koon led out with a bet of 35,000 and Addamo looked him up. Koon showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for just ace-high while Addamo held {6-Spades}{6-Hearts} for just a pair of sixes, good enough to win the pot.
