Montgomery Chips Up Further

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

During the late stages of the tournament day, several players have emerged as candidates for the overnight lead. One of them is Kyle Montgomery, who just won another showdown pot versus Amnon Filippi.

On a board of {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}, Filippi check-called a bet and mucked when he was shown the {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} by Montgomery. The table also features a resurgent Chad Eveslage and Dan Shak as one of the late entrants.

Razz

Dane Coltman: {x-}{x-} / {7-}{4-}{10-}
Michael Trivett: {x-}{x-} / {2-}{7-}{q-} folded on fifth street

Michael Trivett raised and was called by Dane Coltman, but it was Coltman who opened on fourth street. Trivett was facing another bet on fifth, but slid his cards to the dealer.

At a nearby table, Dario Sammartino was stacking his chips after doubling through Warwick Mirzikinian.

Diebold Left with Fumes

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Ben Diebold: {x-}{x-} / {q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}
Jonathan Cohen: {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} / {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}

Throughout a heads-up duel with Jonathan Cohen, Ben Diebold had invested the vast majority of his short stack and ultimately pair off a bet by Cohen on seventh. He was shown aces and treys to send his cards into the muck, leaving himself with around one big bet only.

Late Night Casualties

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu is nowhere to be found anymore and other notables such as Scott Bohlman, Joe Hachem and David Benyamine also exited recently. For Benyamine, the end came in a Stud Hi-Lo hand against Koray Aldemir and Brian Yoon with the former taking the high pot with aces and treys while Yoon had the low.

Kevin Gerhart

Omaha Hi-Lo

Kevin Gerhart raised from under the gun and David "Bakes" Baker defended the big blind. Both checked the {q-Spades}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and Baker then check-called the {7-Spades} turn and {7-Clubs} river. Gerhart tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades} for the nut flush and that won the entire pot as there was no low in play.

Fuchs Gets Scooped by Tryba and Grigorian

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Chris Grigorian: {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Hearts} / {5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Carol Fuchs: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} / {q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Chris Tryba: {a-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{x-Clubs}

With plenty of bets in the middle in three-way action until sixth street, it was Chris Grigorian who bet seventh. He was called by Carol Fuchs and Chris Tryba to announce his low. Fuchs tabled her kings and queens but received none of the pot as Tryba had trips sixes to earn half the pot for the high hand.

Norman Chad

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Todd Bui: {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} / {7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}{6-Spades}
Norman Chad: {a-Spades}{4-Clubs} / {8-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts} / {9-Clubs}
Joe Hachem: {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

Four ways to fifth street, the action forced out a fourth player while Norman Chad was already all-in. Side action between Joe Hachem and Todd Bui emerged with the former betting and the latter calling. Hachem then check-called twice when Bui bet and was shown the {6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Spades} for a flush and a seven-low.

Hachem was not quite pleased as he flashed the {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a worse low while Chad slowly tabled his {a-Spades}{4-Clubs} in the hole. He then squeezed the final card, which was the {9-Clubs} to end his run in the penultimate level.
