Two Short Stack Doubles Near the Bubble

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Maxx Coleman: {k-Spades}{4-Spades} / {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs} / {7-Clubs}
Kosei Ichinose: {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {2-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

Kosei Ichinose was all-in on fifth with a set of deuces and Maxx Coleman had some outs with aces on sixth but bricked seventh to dash out the double.

Shortly after, Michael Parizon had all the low cards in a Seven Card Stud hand against Philip Long, ending up with the {2-Clubs}{a-Clubs} / {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} / {3-Diamonds} for the full double.

Long took another hit when Jerry Wong made queens and sevens as the tense action near the bubble continued.

McKenna Eliminated, Hand for Hand Play Begins

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

One hand after doubling up against Jeff Madsen, Michael McKenna called a preflop raise from Andres Korn on the button. Ben Lamb called from the small blind to see the {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. Another round of bets led all three players to the {2-Clubs} turn.

Lamb led out and Korn raised before McKenna moved over the top for almost all of his remaining chips. Lamb folded, but Korn obliged and slid in enough chips to cover McKenna. Both players turned up their hands.

Michael McKenna: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Andres Korn: {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

McKenna was trailing after Korn spiked the case deuce, and was unable to improve on the river just missing out on the money.

Chung and Glantz Chop Despite Scary Board; Coleman Scoops Yockey

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Three hands on the bubble have been completed and there was no all-in showdown yet, however, Maxx Coleman chipped up to pull away from the bottom of the leaderboard.

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Christopher Chung: {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} / {3-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Matt Glantz: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Diamonds} / {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs}

Christopher Chung raised on fifth for Matt Glantz to call and Chung then bet his very scary board on both remaining boards. Glantz called and was then visibly upset to have missed a big scoop with the nut low and busted diamond draw.

Coleman scooped on a board of {j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{6-Spades} when his {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} had it all against Bryce Yockey.

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Michael Parizon: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} / {k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{5-Diamonds} / {j-Diamonds}
Eugene Katchalov: {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} / {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Spades} / {x-}

On the fourth hand of bubble play, Michael Parizon committed his final 24,000 chips on fourth street against Eugene Katchalov and was quickly called.

Parizon made kings up along the way, but Katchalov hit a straight and it was good enough to burst the bubble.

Parizon finished in 33rd place, and all remaining players are now guaranteed $16,155.

Ichinose First Casualty in the Money

Kosei Ichinose
Kosei Ichinose

Omaha Hi-Lo

Picking up the action on the {9-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop, Kosei Ichinose was already all-in on the button while Bryce Yockey bet out of the big blind. Kevin Song raised from under the gun, Yockey made it three bets and Song called. Yockey then bet the {k-Spades} turn to pick up a call and bet the {9-Clubs} river for Song to fold.

The nut flush was announced by Yockey, who exposed the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} and Ichinose headed to the payout desk to collect $16,155 as his {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} had been drawing to a chop only and missed.

Madsen Next to Fall in the Money

Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Limit Hold'em

Three ways to the {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Jeff Madsen was all-in out of the big blind while Jerry Wong in the small blind check-called a bet by Eric Rodawig. The same procedure repeated on the {5-Clubs} turn and Wong then check-raised the {k-Clubs} river. Rodawig made it three bets and Wong folded near instantly.

Rodawig jokingly announced ace-king but held the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for trips kings with the ace kicker, which beat the {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} of Madsen for the latter to take home a prize worth $16,155.

Glantz Loses A Big One to Chung

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

On a three-way flop of {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Andrew Yeh bet in the small blind and Christopher Chung raised in the big blind. Matt Glantz called in hijack and so did Yeh. On the {8-Diamonds} turn, Yeh check-called Chung's bet while Glantz also stuck around to see the {k-Hearts} on the river.

Yeh now checked once more, Chung bet and Glantz called. "Kings full," Chung announced and tabled the {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}.

"Kings full??? Bleep bleep ... what the fuck, what is going on," Glantz exclaimed after he shot out of the chair and checked his cards from up close before tossing them into the muck.

Glantz Gets Shorter

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

Matt Glantz defended the big blind against Travis Trail and check-called the {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop as well as the {2-Spades} turn. He then checked the {q-Clubs} river and folded to another bet.

In the meanwhile, Kevin Song completed with a four in Razz and called a raise by Aaron Kupin, who had a five showing. Song received a jack versus a deuce and mucked his cards with a ton of frustration to be left with two chips only.

Song Eliminated by Wasserson

Seven Card Stud

Kevin Song: {10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} / {k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades} / {x-}
Eric Wasserson: {k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} / {5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} / {5-Spades}

After the game variant switched, Kevin Song got the remainder of his severe short stack in on third street against Eric Wasserson. On fourth, Song gained the lead but it was short-lived as Wasserson made queens and fives on fifth. Nothing changed on sixth and Wasserson didn't even sweat his last card but instantly rolled it over to expose fives full.

"I got it," he said almost apologetic while Song mucked the last card and headed to the payout desk to collect $16,155 for his 30th place.
