Peffly Forces a Fold

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Tjaart Steyn tossed a single 5,000 chip into the pot from middle position and the dealer, who correctly stated that Steyn had not declared a raise, informed the table the action would be a limp. Steyn confirmed that he had intended to raise, saying "I meant to raise, I just didn't say it". Action folded around to Alex Peffly in the big blind, who checked his option.

Peffly checked on a flop of {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and Steyn continued for 5,000. It was not enough to get rid of Peffly, who made the call.

The {9-Diamonds} turn saw Peffly check for a second time. Steyn was in no mood to slow down, firing off a bet of 12,500. Peffly was equally undeterred and, after some consideration, sized up a raise to 45,000. That was enough to get Steyn to release his hand, sending the pot Peffly's way.
