Duo Calls Shove From Zhang

Level 23 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

The eliminations are happening quickly enough that tournament staff has initiated hand-for-hand play to ensure all players receive their proper payouts.

The words "all in" can be heard multiple times every minute throughout Bally's ballroom.

One of these was heard from Miao Zhang, who announced all in from late position for his remaining 450,000.

Oscar Duo was the only player to call, putting Zhang at risk.

Miao Zhang: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Oscar Duo: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Duo was in the lead, and also after the flop of {10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}. His over cards were best, and continued to hold on the runout of {3-Hearts} and the {j-Diamonds}. Both players had a pair, but Duo's kicker played, and Zhang was eliminated from the tournament.

Nuramalla Shoves On Gurney

Level 24 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Larry Gurney
Larry Gurney

From the small blind, Venkata Nuramalla committed his entire stack of 850,000, and Larry Gurney was happy to look him up from the big blind. After the counts were verified, each player showed their hand.

Venkata Nuramalla: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Larry Gurney: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

Nuramalla stood up after the flop {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} heavily favored Gurney, knowing he needed running queens to beat Gurney's two pair.

It wasn't to be after a turn {2-Spades}, and river {j-Diamonds}.

Nuramalla headed to the payout desk, and at another table Kathy Liebert was also eliminated.

Brewer vs Baumstein in Pot of The Tournament

Level 24 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante
Scott Baumstein
Scott Baumstein

The PokerNews team was called over to a table with a board showing {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Yavine Brewer in the small blind had bet 900,000 into a pot of roughly just over 1,000,000. Scott Baumstien made the call from the big blind.

Before the dealer could scoop in any chips or peel the river card, Brewer moved all in for effectively 1,350,000.

The dealer put out the {4-Hearts} river and now Baumstein went well into the tank as he faced a massive decision.

"I don't think I'm going to fold," said Baumstein.

After much thought, Baumstein finally moved a stack forward to signal a call. He was shown the bad news as Brewer had {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a flopped two pair. Baumstein flashed his {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} in disappointment before joining the others in the payout line.

Soualian Takes Out Bongardt

Level 24 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

All of the chips were in the middle on a {6-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop with Bruce Bongardt the effective stack against Raffi Soualian.

Bruce Bongardt: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Raffi Soualian: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Bongardt had top pair while Soualian had an open-ended straight draw and one overcard. The {3-Hearts} turn helped no one but the {a-Spades} river gave Soualian Broadway to send Bongardt to the exit.
