Gaston's Two Pair Scores The Knockout

Level 28 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

The action was picked up on the river of a board showing {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}. Tyler Gaston moved all in for roughly 5,000,000 into a pot of nearly 1,600,000, more than covering his opponents 1,800,000 remaining.

With not much thought Gaston's opponent made the call and was shown the bad news when Gaston's {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} rivered two pair, awarding him the knockout and a healthy stack.

Vonrein Doubles Through Kitrel

Level 28 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

Steven Kitrel bet 500,000 from middle position. Andrew Vonrein moved all in from the hijack for 2,300,000 and was called by Kitrel.

Andrew Vonrein: {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Steven Kitrel: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

A clean board of {5-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Hearts} was enough for Vonrein to get a much needed double-up and leaves Kitrel with 12 big blinds.

Kingery Calls Shove With Aces

Level 28 : 100,000/200,000, 200,000 ante

A player bet 750,000 under the gun, and Jared Kingery called from late position. The player to his left raised all in for another 3,200,000 from the button.

The initial opener opted to fold, and Jared Kingery called quickly to put the button at risk.

Button: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Jared Kingery: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}

A few players stood up and took a step back to watch a flop of {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The button was in need of running cards to improve his chances against Kingery's pocket aces.

After the {5-Clubs} hit the felt, he patted the table and stood up before the {5-Spades} completed the board. Kingery scooped the pot with two pair.

Carvalho Gets Lucky On River

Level 29 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

There was about 3,000,000 in the middle, with two players heads up.

The player at risk in the big blind put in his entire stack of 2,300,000 against Erik Carvalho, who was the only person to call.

Big Blind: {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Erik Carvalho: {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}

The dealer quickly dealt out {5-}{4-}{k-}{4-}{6-}, and the river that gave Carvalho two pair, also brought an outburst from the player who was eliminated.

"Oh my God!!!", could be heard from across the ballroom as he rushed to the payout line.

The players remaining at the table talked about the spiked six for a moment, until the understandably frustrated player returned to apologize for his outburst.

Chip Leader Affleck Gets Cowboys

Level 29 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Action was picked up as a flop ran out, with roughly 1,200,000 in the middle.

The board read {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and Matt Affleck checked from early position. The button bet out for 500,000 and Affleck smooth called.

A turn of {j-Spades} saw Affleck check again, and his opponent bet out 800,000. Affleck called.

The river slowed down the action, with both players checking on the {a-Hearts}.

Affleck tabled {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}, and his opponent mucked.

"It doesn't help that you play well AND run good," his opponent said.

Elsewhere on the former chip leader's table, Isidro Martinez is staying level, while his tablemate David Schneyer has now also broken the 20,000,000 mark.

Williams Calls River Bluff

Level 30 : 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

From the big blind a player pushed for his remaining stack of 6,125,000, and Doug Williams was left with a tough decision for a large chunk of his stack.

He had the other player covered on a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}.

"Count it," Williams told the dealer.

After the number was in, Williams called and they turned their hands over.

The big blind had been bluffing with {7-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Williams' {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for top pair proved the better hand, with his opponent only having nine-high.

Both players congratulated each other on their play during the tournament, especially Williams to the eliminated player.

"If this is really your first tournament," Williams told him, "You're going to go far."
