Wright Survives the Bubble

WSOP bracelet winner Larry Wright opened for 8,000 from late position and the big blind raised to 20,000. Wright went all in for 43,000 total and the big blind called.

McDonald Eliminates Stamm Near the Bubble

David Stamm opened from the cutoff for 6,000 and Tom McDonald called from the small blind.

The flop came and McDonald lead for 20,000. Stamm raised to 50,000 and McDonald immediately put Stamm all in. Stamm called.

McDonald's top pair went up against Stamm's nut flush draw.

The on the turn gave Stamm more outs to a win but the was not one of them as he exited about five places from the bubble.

Is the PokerNews Run-Good Real?

Eric Van Der Burg was a little chilly sitting at his table and asked to borrow a jacket from PokerNews.

We were happy to oblige and since then, Van Der Burg has run his chip stack up among the leaders.

He was just seen collecting a massive pot and has nearly 400,000 on the bubble, more than three times the chip average.

This begs the question, is the PokerNews run-good real?

Van Der Burg Shoves With Authority

There was 20,000 in on the flop when Eric Van Der Burg bet 7,000.

His opponent popped it up to 19,000 and Van Der Burg quickly moved in for 48,000.

That put his opponent into the tank, as he used a magnifying glass to double-check his cards and the board.

He eventually let it go and Van Der Burg smacked his hand face down on the table.

"Bully," he said jokingly. "You're a bully."

The table burst out laughing and Van Der Burg stacked his new chips.

Woods Takes on New Role: Chip Leader

Famous actor James Woods is not only present for Day 2 of the Super Seniors Event, he's putting on a Hollywood performance.

In a hand relayed by the table, Woods was in position in a three-way pot against a middle position foe and the big blind.

The flop came and the middle position put out a bet of 22,000. Both Woods and the big blind called.

On the turn, the middle position player was all in for 52,000 with all three players continuing to the river.

On the river, Woods shoved and the big blind folded.

Woods turned over for the win and assumed the leading role in the tournament.

Shulman Keeping it Going

Niekerk Putting Her Dealing Skills To Work

Carolyn Niekerk, who has dealt at the WSOP since 2017, is running it up.

She is currently sitting on about three times the chip average early in Day 2.

Niekerk deals lots of mixed games and final tables here at the WSOP, including the 2021 $1,500 Seniors Championship final table.

She has taken some time off this year and been able to play instead of deal and is putting her knowledge to good work here as an early chip leader.
