Smith Gets Past Imsirovic

Level 10 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Ali Imsirovic was down to just 94,000 chips and ripped all in on the button. John Smith woke up with a premium in the big blind and quickly called it off.

Ali Imsirovic: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
John Smith: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} to give Imsirovic a couple more outs. However, the {9-Hearts} on the turn and the {j-Clubs} on the river was not enough to overcome the set of jacks of Smith who advanced to Round 3.

In a big three-bet pot, Koray Aldemir took a huge 470,000 to 130,000 lead over Mikita Badziakouski.

With already 72,000 in the pot, the flop came {6-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

Badziakouski bet 36,000. Aldemir went in the tank for about two minutes and came back with a shove.

Smith Gets Paid with Trips, Leaves Bujtas Gasping for Air

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Dan Smith is closing in on a second-round victory after scooping a huge pot against Laszlo Bujtas.

With well over 100,000 chips already in the middle on a {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} board, Smith went for a 75,000 bet, roughly half of Bujtas' remaining stack.

After deliberating for about 30 seconds, Bujtas made the call only to be shown Smith's {9-Clubs}{3-Spades}, leaving Bujtas with just 85,000 chips.

Koray Aldemir limped, Mikita Badziakouski shoved for approximately 105,000, and Aldemir snap-called.

Mikita Badziakouski: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Koray Aldemir: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Badziakouski picked up a pocket pair but was well behind Aldemir's ladies. The board ran out {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} to secure the 2021 WSOP Main Event champion's place in the next round, while Badziakouski was eliminated.

At a nearby table, Anthony Zinno found himself with all of the chips against Chris Brewer, and he will face Jonathan Jaffe in Round 3 tomorrow.

Smith Holds to Eliminate Bujtas

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Laszlo Bujtas was down to just 76,000 chips and moved all in on the button. Dan Smith called from the big blind and they were off to the races.

Laszlo Bujtas: {j-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Dan Smith: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} to give Bujtas an open-ended straight draw to go with his two over cards. The {k-Diamonds} on the turn and the {a-Hearts} on the river provided no help and Smith will move on to Round 3.

Rabichow Extends Lead Over Yokosawa

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Masato Yokosawa raised to 20,000 and Kevin Rabichow defended.

The dealer spread the {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and Rabichow check-called for 10,000. The duo checked it down on the {7-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river.

Rabichow revealed {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades} which was good for the pot as Yokosawa mucked.

Vieira Running on Fumes After Vogelsang Forces River Fold

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

João Vieira is down to just 70,000 chips after his overbet on the river was met with a raise from Christoph Vogelsang.

Vogelsang opened to 12,000 and Vieira called.

On the {k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop, both players took over a minute to check their hands.

The same would follow after the {8-Diamonds} turn, with each player eventually tapping the table.

The {8-Diamonds} saw Vieira go for a bet of 28,000 into the 24,000 chip pot. After roughly 90 seconds in the tank, Vogelsang came back with a 68,000 raise.

With only 70,000 behind, Vieira visibly winced and would take only a short while to eventually toss his cards into the muck.

Rabichow Binks the River to Move Past Yokosawa

Level 12 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

With 40,000 chips in the pot and the board reading {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}, Masato Yokosawa had a bet of 50,000 on the table. Kevin Rabichow check-raised all in and Yokosawa was put to the test for his remaining 65,000 chips. After giving it some thought, Yokosawa made the call.

Masato Yokosawa: {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Kevin Rabichow: {10-Spades}{4-Spades}

Yokosawa was in the lead with his two pair but it was the {10-Clubs} on the river that gave Rabichow the better two pair and the win in the match.
