Karabasz Turns to Poker Gods for Guidance

Level 34 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante

Just before the break, faced with an all-in bet for his tournament life, Douglas Karabasz was deep in the tank preflop.

"You guys might have to call the clock on me," he told the table. Soon after, the player to his left called the clock. When the floor gave him a countdown of thirty seconds, Karabasz took out his WSOP card from his wallet and held it in front of him.

"Ok heads I call, tails I fold," he announced as he indicated that the bracelet image was the heads side.

He then flipped the card, and sure enough it landed on heads.

"Alright, I'm all in, " he stated with conviction as he pushed his chips into the middle. "I've got a big hand, I'm either way ahead or behind," he continued as the cards were tabled with Karabasz at risk.

Douglas Karabasz: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} which gave Karabasz a straight, winning the hand for a double up while his opponent was left with less than a big blind.
