Chen On A Massive Spin-Up

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Early position bet 13,000 leaving only 1,000 behind. Guang Chen in the hijack made the call. The button raised to 44,000. Middle position flicked in their remaining 1,000 chip and Chen made the call.

Chen checked dark before the flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the button moved all in for 154,000. Chen snap-called for 152,000.

Early Position: {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Guang Chen: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Button: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

The button was ahead with pocket jacks, but Chen had several outs as they could hit an ace, a flush or hit with their up and down straight draw.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} securing the win for Chen and the case {j-Clubs} completed the board to rub salt in the wounds to the button who was left with 2,000 chips. The small blind exited the tournament.

Chen spoke to a PokerNews reporter after their hand and explained that they max late-regged the event and spun-up from 40,000 chips to 413,000 in less than 20 minutes.
